Kings radio host for ESPN said the front office told Fox they had a deal for John Collins or Cam Johnson on the table. Both deals went cold and apparently was the last straw for Fox.

I wonder if they felt out from those conversations that he wasn't all that inclined to commit to staying even if they made a trade.

Does a trade involving Fox and Lavine work? It seems like Lavine might be Sacramento's best chance at keeping in the playoff race.

Oh man. Reuniting Derozan and Lavine would be peak Kangz. If it happens this has to be a simulation.

Random thoughts on Fox
-I truly believe Fox is only marginally better than Sexton. I would much rather trade a bad pick for him than trade 3+ solid picks for Fox.
-Kings want John Collins
-San Antonio owns swap right on Sacramento’s 2031 pick.
-Sacramento owes their ‘25 pick top-12 protected to the Hawks
-‘25 Hawks, ‘25 Chicago, ‘25 Charlotte (fake), and returning the swap is basically three 1sts kind of value which I think is about right. Problem is Kings aren’t going to want purely garbage salary, so I guess throw in another first (‘27 Hawks or Spurs?… or maybe Minnesota ‘31???) to break off for the team that sends Sacramento win now players that perfectly fit their needs
-they could maybe loop in the Hawks to trade the Kings pick back to them in exchange for The Hawks getting their pick back from the Spurs.

This is gonna be an interesting trade deadline.

-I truly think Fox is only marginally better than Sexton

I feel like Sexton should be very valuable to any potential suitors. They should have to pay a ransom.
Dude is ballin. Its a pretty big sample size at this point of him scoring a lot of points and scoring them very efficiently. So consistent.

Jazz have some really good pieces. I don't want to tear it all the way down if we don't have to.

Sexton is very different from Fox. Both are lightening fast pgs but that's where the comp stops.

Sexton a great ISO bucket getter who plays far too much 1 v 5 ball and is a decent shooter. Fox is a very mature playmaker with elite speed and a better shot.

If we tanked 2 years ago we could have Wemby, Lauri, and fox wanting to come to Utah. Just saying...

Looks good to me. I think it is really good for the Spurs. They drop 2 bad contracts and nab fox for 4 x 1sts.

Although if I am the Kings it's just OK. Collins and Sexton plus 2 1sts for fox is solid. They also get out of the Heurter business. But can they do better elsewhere? Fox is a very good player.

Fox’s assist numbers are pretty poor for the usage so I think there’s something to be desired there. He’s also a worse three point shooter than Sexton with a lower TS% (which I think is more an indicator that Sexton could be scoring more on lower efficiency; Sexton is crazy efficient for a guard).
