2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

Chicago's pick was already protected, so I don't quite get that portion of it.
That pick was going to convey in the lottery. It was a good get for them from where they’ve been for the last year and a half when no one was offering any kind of future-facing stuff at all.

I think that was maybe a pride thing on the Kings/Vivek part. Embarrassing to come crawling back for something you handed out like candy.
Spurs probably argue they got LaVine, who is either on the same level as Fox or just below, so why should they get a ton of premium. I'm more embarrassed for the Bulls not getting anything else and taking on the bad salary

As it stands today they have the would likely have the 9th pick and are obviously trying to get worse to get better odds. I get that might be a little too close for comfort though.

Well, also, if the pick doesn’t convey this year, it kicks back two more years at top-8 protected. Almost a perfect protection schema cuz they for sure were gonna cough up a pick just outside that range in the next three years.

My theory leading up to this is that SA or Atlanta were gonna jump into the lottery and push the pick to exactly 11 cuz the Spurs are the luckiest mother****ers out there. SA not tanking and jettisoning the Chicago pick is a big deal.
