2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

Also Dlo provides a lot of what they are missing as far as a creator. I don't think they understand the assignment.

They do, just easier said than done to get rid of good talent methinks.

DLO will be about as good or maybe even better than Shroeder. Perfect situation for him to cleanup on bad east teams as a key guy. I'd ship him off to ORL right away if I were them.

You just take the Memphis deal. It’s pretty easy. Don’t add the thing you really need especially if it’s attached to a player with a horrible rep and big enough contract that it isn’t easy to move… unless you have a deal lined up. Is that Obi thing real or nah.

LOL... simply look at how we perform when he is on the court versus off of it.
Of course we perform better with him. Because when he is off his place is taken by Keyonte, Clarkson, Cody or Juzang - and they are even worse than Sexton. But other teams (especially good ones) tend to have somewhat competent guards.

lol yes and the chances that the other guards we get that in a trade would be worse than Sexton.

The point is that there's all kinds of trade scenarios floating around here where the main argument is "Sexton could really help this team that's trying to win!"

And that's just extremely unlikely. For one thing, Collin playing major minutes is a big reason the Jazz defense is the worst in the league. GMs are not blind.

As I've been saying all along, Sexton does have a role in this league where he can probably be a positive – a bucket-getting sparkplug off the bench on a very short leash. The problem is that he doesn't see himself that way, and no coach needs that kind of headache on a winning team.

This team was a ****** defense long before Sexton got here.

The questions is what good teams 1. Does not have good guards AND is good enough defensively to cover for Sexton's defensive struggles AND has draft capital AND Can absorb Sexton's contract?

How many teams do you have in this group?
No the question was...

Why would he trade Sexton, a negative player and one of the very worst defenders in the entire league?
The answer is in part because he helps US win games over what we have.

To your second question the Spurs would LOVE to have a guy like Sexton. They are relying on CP3, Vassell, Keldon Johnson to create advantages off the dribble and it is not going well. Sexton would eat with that squad especially since Victor has so much gravity at the rim and on the perimeter. They would be able to cover for his defensive issues. Go watch them play any team with a top 15 defense and watch their guard creation.

There are many teams that could use Sexton in lesser roles. They don't have to absorb Sexton's contract. Its a pretty easy match. There may only be like 5-8 teams that make sense for Sexton but it only takes 1. And I mean since he's such a loser player why would they need draft capital to trade for him?

I love when posters act like there are 240 perfect NBA players out there and if a guy has a flaw he's not a winning player... in spite of copious amounts of evidence that they do some things at a very high level.

Houston AND Houston AND Houston

For Sexton- SA, Lakers, Clips, Magic, Pacers all fit imo and have the ability to do it. If Kings did move Fox I could see them adding Collin. Promote Monk and add Sexton.
