Who's your 7 and why?

I think the majority of us have Flagg, Harper, Ace, Kas, VJ, and Tre Johnson top 6, so who would you put at #7 and why? If you have someone higher than one of those guys, who and why?

I'm genuinely interested because I'm just not sure at all who I would have there.

I have no idea.

I guess the safe pick would be Kon at 7. He does seem to be pretty good, has an elite NBA skill with good IQ.

But would I ever draft him at 7? Probably not.

I would probably be deciding between Demin, Wolf, Fleming, Bryant, or Malauch

• Demin has a lot of potential if he can ever figure out the scoring/shooting.
• Bryant has a lot of potential as a valuable athletic wing.
• Fleming is good Hendricks insurance as a switchable rim protector who can space the floor.
• Wolf is just interesting
• Malauch has a ton of potential. At 7 Im pretty low on everyone's all-star upside. Malauch would not get a ton of minutes behind Kessler, but you can develop him to trade him. Mark Williams got a valuable future first and Dalton Knecht and that's with his terrible injury history. Or it would allow you to trade Walker if he develops well.

Also, why in god’s name would you use that to demonstrate your point? I don’t know what people think they are seeing when they watch him.

Your case was posting one dunk? Nothing about Wolf's athleticism that we talk about is even related to his dunking/vertical ability.

KO looked slow and moved like a high post 5 moves at Gonzaga. Stop trying to pull an okey doke over one grainy 240p dunk.

Wolf moves markedly different than KO with the ball in his hand. Not really comparable. If you want to make the comp on defense, sure, go ahead, but they aren't that alike offensively.

He moves extremely well for his size and seems to have really good active hands on defense.

Offensively he's not really allowed to do much for Arizona, so it's really hard to know what he can do on ball. I'm guessing if he was capable he would get more reps, but that's not always the case.

I think he has some sneaky Shane Battier potential, but he may have more offensive upside. I think he's going to be one of this year's big risers, like mid-late lottery.

If you liked Mehmet Okur, you should really like Wolf, imo.

His on ball flashes are big for me….but it’s not necessarily because I believe he will be some kind of on ball creator. It just shows that he has some feel for the game and isn’t a total zero with the ball in his hands. As much as we like to simplify the 3&D role, I think some versatility and ability to make decisions with the ball quickly has become important for role players.

If you liked Mehmet Okur, you should really like Wolf, imo.

If we are comparing playstyle to past Jazz players, he's more inline with what AK was trying to do when he had the ball in his hands. Really not comparable to Okur in the slightest.

We’re doing the thing where we’re just throwing out white guys to compare to wolf now lol.

There just isn’t a comp for a guy his size with his handles, vision, wiggle, passing chops, IQ, and shooting. But let’s play:

-unathletic Ben Simmons with a jumpshot and suspect defensive ability
-Bigger Hedo Turkoglu
-Franz Wagner in Mo Wagner’s body
-Jumbo Jingles
-Jumbo Kyle Anderson
-Olynyk with a bag and handles and even better passing

We have seen enough dudes that are supposedly disqualifyingly unathletic make it and even dominate in the NBA. The traits common to all of them is that they are sharper than almost everyone else on the court, they are big, they use passing as an effective weapon, and they can shoot the basketball.

Just wanted to also follow up to mention that of Wolf has a significantly better BPM than anyone in the consensus top-6 other than Flagg (who absolutely dwarfs everybody). Wolf actually has a better defensive BPM than offensive. He’s also the best player on the best team in the 2nd best conference in CBB. He will go top-10 and if he doesn’t then it’s a mistake.
