The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

If you're the Hawks do you talk yourself into Jalen Johnson getting healthy and running it back? They've been below .500 since that bubble run

They’re in a decent spot imo. Maybe not to win the championship anytime soon, but I think they are well on their way to being a good East team who wins a lot of games. Trae is the oldest guy out of their top 5, and this is only his age 26 season. I think it’s reasonable to expect them to move forward with some player development from Risacher/Daniels/Okogwu and getting Johnson back. They don’t have their pick in 27, so moving backwards doesn’t make a ton of sense. But they do have a lot of future incoming picks that put them in a good position for a future trade. I’d keep doing what they’re doing. Their cap is also very clean so they could make a FA play.

Yeah, I was thinking of the Mavs fans. They got screwed with a bundle of dried out corn cobs and whatever the opposite of lube is, locktite? Locktite covered dried out corn cobs. Damn. That just suuuuuucckkkssss. To watch your generational talent, who had expressed his desire to stay and work through the turmoil, just suddenly shipped off to the most hated franchise in the NBA and to get scraps and **** in return, wow. Epically bad. I have never felt as bad for a fan base as I do for the Mavs right now. Yikes.
Well I’m still confused by their logic of trading Doncic for so little.

The No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft was 1-11 tonight. Way to stud up.
I didn't believe that he was the number one pick. So I looked it up and yep, he was the number pick. What the ****? I never even heard of the dude. I don't even remember him in the lead up to last years draft. If you hadn't said he was the number 1 pick then I would have just thought he was some random 2nd round pick or something.
Oof. What a bad year to win the lottery.
