What's new

Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I'm excited for when you get smarter as you get older, LOL.

I'm guessing he's going to be a secondary as well, but I don't think it's 100% set in stone when he's had as much success as he's had on ball and is a young as he is.
One of the worst turnover rates for a modern 1st round one and done prospect is his success as a primary. Riley > Kasparas.

I bet PHX would prefer Kessler + Collins + Sexton over Lauri.

I deleted my post. I don't think the Jazz would give up Lauri + 5 + 21 just to move up to #2. That's a heavy price when they could just draft Tre or Ace.

I could see a scenario where Phoenix gets the #14 pick and San Antonio gets the #21 pick. That aligns with the types of players these teams have been working out this week.

The Jazz with Lauri/Kessler/Collins + #5 is well positioned to help the Spurs and Suns complete a trade. The Jazz would take back younger players from the Spurs. Jazz would probably move a future 1st sooner than they'd move #5 though.

Luka is tall Harden. I only caught glimpses of Bird... you are old as **** so I have no comps for Pete Maravich. Durant is kinda new age Bird maybe. Mullin... Klay/Rashard Lewis? You are comparing a by gone era.

You can use white comps all you want... if you feel a need to use it as a qualifier then you just aren't looking deep enough.
There aren’t many top white stars today just easier to come up with my childhood hero’s.

Cmon bird and Pistol are some of the most iconic players ever surely you have an idea? Also come up with another comp for each.

Watching highlights versus games is different. The game is also so incredibly different that Bird would be different than they were.

Kon is more similar to Klay or Desmond Bane than he is to Corey Kispert imo. Tre Johnson and Kon have both been compared to Sensabaugh... so how about that. There is no reason to use race as a qualifier... sorry.

Trying this again...

Spurs give: #2, K. Johnson, J. Sochan, H. Barnes
Spurs receive: Kevin Durant, #21

Suns give: Kevin Durant, maybe loose change
Suns receive: #5, Lauri Markkanen, future protected FRP

Jazz give: #5, #21, Lauri Markkanen, future protected FRP
Jazz receive: #2, #14, K. Johnson, J. Sochan, H. Barnes

Jazz would need to really, really want Harper and someone at #14 to do this deal.

Thanks for the link. Can you give us a quick and dirty on where they're coming from? Are they stat based, or do they prefer certain types over others? I'm not sure what's quite getting two players I've never heard of to have higher rankings than both gunner types (Ace, Trey, Fears(?)) and 3 & D types (Coward, Powell)

There is an "about this projection" section on the site. That will give more detail than I can. Generally, stat only models (which this appears to be) prefer players with a wide range of indicators even if those indicators don't seem important for their role like rebounds for guards or assists for big men. Some key indicators shared by most models are steals, ast/tov, and 2FG%. Some indicators that don't seem to have great value are USG, raw PPG, raw 3FG%. Every model is different, but those things tend to be shared across stat focused models.

I haven't seen anyone compare him to dirk lol. Or Ak. Bird I can see a little bit he is way more bouncy/explosive.
I been comparing him to LeBron a bit as he seems to be pretty good at everything at such a young age. A phenom
i might as well add fuel to the fire - the reactions/comments have been a lot of fun - but sometime around February, i realized i saw a lot of Luka in Flagg on the offensive end. i think he's a much better passer than a lot of people seem to realize - but will need to tighten up the handle if he's going to be that lead forward in the mold of Luka.

better passing version too. sheesh now that we're comparing to black guys (favorably, i might add!), i'm starting to like the mfer more.

Yeah...if Brice was capable of making the right play every time and be just a little bit smarter on offense he'd be really good. As he is right now, he's still a pretty damn good shooter with some scoring chops. His BBIQ and decision making are some of the worst I've seen though. I'd say Kon is on the other end of spectrum where he's a high IQ player who consistently makes the right decisions.

A smarter Sensabaugh probably looks something like Desmond Bane who is another common comparison.

It’s interesting that Essengue better in the Eurocup games than the German League. The former is the higher level of competition and it’s not like it’s a shooting variance thing. He only dunks and shoots fts.

Saraf’s performance is more in line with what you’d expect.
how much of that is just a really young player continuing to improve over the course of the season? i have no idea, but it's probably not nothing.
