2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Here's a question... what do you think is fair value for our players purely as picks of this draft.

What's the lowest pick you would trade Lauri for? What about Kessler? Sexton? Collins?
Lowest pick for Lauri is probably 6
Lowest pick for Kessler would probably be around 12ish (and only for someone sliding that I really liked, e.g. Kasparas)
Lowest picks for Sexton and Collins would be late-firsts (and I'd take an extra year of salary to get these done, but I'd be targeting someone specific, e.g. Wolf, Fleming, Gonzalez, Traore)

Just praying for Durant to accept MIN. Would be good for us on multiple fronts.
Sounds like they are willing to do it whether he blesses it or not. I think their offer is the best from what the reporting seems to indicate. The offers are almost kind of laughable. Rental price starts to really make sense.

I hope their way to convince KD to come is to give him the most ridiculous contract extension possible. I heard Gobert+DDV would be the offer. Those two will win more RS games than KD alone and his extension would cripple them financially. MIN is propped up in the RS because they have a bunch of ironmen. You trade a couple of them, lose a couple in FA, and only add 37 year old Durant. I really think they are prone to missing the playoffs unless things go right for them. And as much as I love Gobert, he's going to be 33 next year so it won't affect our 31 Suns pick. He's like the perfect player/age to keep the Suns in double down mode.

MIN is also a KD destination that is not a Lauri destination, so we don't lose a potential Lauri buyer like we potentially would with SAS, HOU, or MIA.

Can we get an executive summary for those of us not on X/other relevant channels?
Well KD tries to will himself to Spurs who apparently havent even made an offer. Minnesota apparently has the best bid but KD refuses to go there. Houston is lowballing Suns thinking they have leverage when KD doesnt prefer them and apparently Heat are just too poor.

Thats the situation in a nutshell. Everyone is also talking this and that.

The Pacers are definitely in money saving mode and will want to resign Turner. I wonder if they'll cut bait with Jarace Walker. Been a disappointing start to his career without much opportunity, but I still believe in him as a second draft guy.

Mathurin and Walker are both on the chopping block. Wonder if they have a deal lined up for one of them that will net them a pick this year.

This trade would set us up so well in 27 and 29. KD either bounces or takes up an amazing amount of the cap. Donte was so good for them. Rudy is obvious... also removes 2 of their youth swings. Would further solidify their salary inflexibility. They also losing NAW this offseason. This is a huge development if it happens.

Mathurin at least plays...$9M ain't bad for a rotation player even if his minutes get cut in the playoffs. He also won them a finals game. Walker has no path to playing time unless he usurps Toppin. Feels like they have to make a choice between Walker/Toppin and they won't be giving away Toppin.

Their depth would be shattered, and that's what wins games in the RS. At least one of NAW/Randle/Reid will be gone. They'd have like 6 established players, 2 of which are 37+.

Poor Suns fans. They probably make the Conference Finals with that team.

Right but if he wants a big extension and you can replace a chunk of what he provides with a minimum vet and get a pick for him? Walker might be the one but I'd be worried that comes back to bite them and then Mathurin walks the next year due to salary anyway. Walker is cheaper longer and may get a chance due to injury. They need Turner to help em out a bit.

Just saying they can play it out with Mathurin a bit and hope for the best in the future. He's providing good value for money. Walker is just an expensive bench warmer atm so I think they move him first.

I see that but Benny makes 3M more this year and will make like $20M the following year?

Maybe they move them both for a cheap replacement... if it was me I'd move Benny first and figure out Walker later but depends on the offers I guess.

I'd do 21 for Walker in a damn second but I'd guess they could do a little better than that.

I guess the way I see it is that Walker has zero path to increased playing time until Toppin is gone. All he can really do is hope injuries happen. And the more he sits, the less value he has (if he still has any value at all). Ben actually plays for them. He contributes and has a chance to increase his value. If he earns a big and increased deal they can't afford, they can work to trade him then. I'm sure Ben could be had for a price right now, but I think it makes more sense for the guy who doesn't play and cannot play over the guy who is a big contributor. If they don't do anything with Walker, he will get traded for a similar price to the one they paid to get Toppin aka next to nothing.
