Jazz Pushing For Jaylen Brown

It would probably take more first-round picks than we received for Mitchell or Gobert. I like Jaylen Brown, but I think we should stick with the path we’re on—we want to be bad next season to maximize our 2026 pick and not give it to OKC.
This is exactly how I feel. Brown feels like one of the better names we could hope trading for, but I’d rather go for AJ or Boozer next year

So one of the things with doing the pod and getting more traction on X has done has had some "sauces" reach out and share stuff. Some of this is Best Buy **** so don't take it too seriously...

One guy sent me a DM saying he has connections to the Ainge sons and Austin won't let us do the Brown deal in part because of the contract being so big. Take it for what its worth.

Evan Sidery (AI Evan) reached out and Dm'd me and let me know to watch out for Brown to Utah. Him and I have had some funny DMs where I rib him a little and he lols with me about it. He is an aggregator but he is good at it and does have some sourcing but again... take it for what its worth.

Fun times!

If we did the Brown deal I would really hope we keep Sexton. His efficient scoring would be really helpful if we are going win now mode. sub in JC and KJ with John Collins.

please let the first guy be right.

Youre at the bottom of the pool as a strategy though.

I want to get to shore (win a chip) not just tread water (make the play in for 3 years).
We’re in an amateur submarine that just imploded by the Titanic. People are arguing about whether they should swim up to scuba the Great Barrier Reef while others are saying shoot for the stars and relax on a beach in Tahiti. I’m sitting there staring at an air bubble, wondering if I should breath it for my air hunger and prolong the inevitable, or just suck in some water and expedite the process.

Call me crazy but I would absolutely love to add a 28 year old finals MVP to our roster.
I get this sentiment... I really do. I just think it will cost 2025 5th pick, will cost us a top 8 pick in 2026 because of opting out of the tank... Those are our best two assets and only one part of the acquisition price for Boston. The other is a premium we eat. We top out as the like 4th or 5th team out west maybe? That honestly feels really ambitious. We would be capped out soon as well.

It also just shows that we either don't have a plan or the discipline to stick with a route which is how teams like Sacramento and Chicago get stuck in mediocrity. You are relying on some big draft luck or some stupid team luck like Indiana. And you will need luck in either route (tank route or win now route) but tank route has better terms imo. In a year go on ahead and do this... go nuts. We need one more year of tank and seasoning for the youngsters. OKC has shown how fruitful the method can be if you don't shortcut the process. This isn't eve a title or bust type of thing. This is about sustainable success and drafting a star provides an amazing route to do it.

Depends on the price obviously, but Sexton/Collins/Suns '31/a few picks sounds like something you just should do.

It would only set us back a decade, no big deal.
I don't know if its quite that bad in one deal... but I will say it doesn't give me hope for the long term future of the franchise under Smith. Oscillating back and forth emotionally is just a recipe for mediocrity. Would be relying on dumbass luck. Which does happen... see Mavericks, Dallas.
