Utah Jazz Select Walter Clayton Jr, Pick 18 (Trade)

Ainge basically copying his Payton Pritchard formula. Wouldn't be mad to take him with a late first. 21st even. Just don't see the need to trade up to 18th for him.

The Jazz weren't going to use both 2nd round picks anyway, the cost to move up was pretty negligible IMO.

He wasn't on my radar until earlier this week when Locke brought his name up when going over shooting graphs and success in the NBA becoming an average 3pt shooter. Guess that should have been a sign?

Miami was gonna take him at 20 for sure. We obviously had him in a higher tier than anyone else left and knew he was gonna be gone.

WCJ named Spo first when asked which 3 people, dead or alive, he would want tot have dinner with. Had to think hard to come up with Kobe... but Spo's name came out immediately. Couldn't have spilled the beans any worse.

I thought that the Jazz had prioritized length. It looks like the only guard taller than 6’3” is gonna be Cody and I’m still not sure that he’s a bonafide NBA player.

No guarantee he actually turns into Pritchard, but that would be the goal. Pritchard is an analytics god. Could be due for a massive season with Tatum out.

That only means he wanna stay in Florida which is understandable. Not sure about the interest from Miami's side though. Especially when they had Kas falling to their laps from the projected lottery spot.

If he turns out to be an NBA level lead ball handler, this might be a steal. If he can't develop that well and is a combo/bench guard, it's a decent but not great pick.

I guess the actual scouts and teams werent as high on Kas as the internet analysts. I mean we traded up for WCJ instead of him, and we have more reason to go for young prospects than Miami does.
