Do you think the Utah Jazz would offer Omar a job?Sure, but for Ace? How? You've talked about a business "partner" (i.e. "partnership"), right?
Look, I'm not trying to spring a gotcha on you. Ace is probably a little bit of a dummy in this process. And part of the evidence of his dummy-ness is that he appears to have bought into Washington as a good spot for him over a place like Utah. That makes very little sense, so he appears to have swallowed whatever nonsense Omar was feeding him.
The NFL protected Shedeur Sanders? Let's please pull our heads out of our asses here, lol. Owners only care about one thing: retaining their power. The NFL Players' union is pathetic in comparison to the NBA's, only reason their mickey mouse **** hasn't happened in the NBA as muchIt protects the player. If I understand it correctly, the NFL has agents who have the academic and licensing credentials to legally be able to represent someone. Why would you want some wannabe like this ******* representing your young talent? It’s bad for the kid and ultimately bad for the league.
This is my favorite part of it. If a kid weren’t getting preyed upon I wouldn’t feel guilty for finding the entire thing hilarious. The most ironic thing of this all is if Omar Cooper wasn’t involved with Ace Bailey he likely wouldn’t have fell to 5 and the Utah Jazz wouldn’t have been able to draft him.
I have no idea. I'm sure they would question his presence on social media. But I don't really know what this has to do with the post of mine that you quoted. But, overall, I think we see things here pretty equally.Do you think the Utah Jazz would offer Omar a job?
Somebody should kidnap this guy....
They wouldn't but it was more rhetorical in a way lol. Omar was interested in his business and it was a sole proprietorship not a partnership with Ace.I have no idea. I'm sure they would question is presence on social media. But I don't really know what this has to do with the post of mine that you quoted. But, overall, I think we see things here pretty equally.
I honestly am not sure I'm disagreeing with you. I'm trying to point you to the root of where this fiasco started and it has nothing to do with me upset we weren't the target. This whole fiasco is about what Omar wanted and why he wanted it... but you don't care about that. This is a unique relationship with unique motivations that are the driving force behind this thing.
The front office did the right thing if they had Ace top of their board. I have never stated otherwise. They also have strong enough leadership squash this.
I hope you let Tony/Andy know. The predatory **** is a real problem and this is public enough now that maybe it can get aggregated and start a conversation. There’s clear violations here if your information is correct.I've had multiple people reach out to me. Some super credible some less credible but def believable.
If what you’ve heard is accurate, that seems like a major news story. Like ESPN/Ringer major. Really recommend funneling the sources to TJ or Andy or getting their help to get it to the right people if it’s too hot for them. The tenor of the messaging coming out right now with the media blitz leads me to believe Omar saw the writing on the wall and is now riding co-pilot/backseat. It would be great if we got news in a few weeks that he was all the way out. Got a feeling he will be able to hang around though.
To be clear... no info on the specifics from Tony or Andy.I hope you let Tony/Andy know. The predatory **** is a real problem and this is public enough now that maybe it can get aggregated and start a conversation. There’s clear violations here if your information is correct.

But also... if this stuff is true it would be tampering/collusion that would warrant some investigation imo. I wouldn't push for it unless it ballooned or became a bigger issue because it would be a distraction for Ace and we've had enough of that BS.I hope you let Tony/Andy know. I guess my issue was with the idea that this happens all the time... it does lol you are right. It can even be messy. And its best to paint this as just another time that happened.Yeah, I don’t think we are disagreeing. I’m on board with what you’re saying about Omar. It’s just not what my initial post was about or what I’ve been speaking to. You seem to be focused on “the truth” about Omar, why he didn’t want to get to Utah, and how the fiasco unfolded. I follow what you’re saying and trying to point me to. What you’re insinuating is obvious and even my dense brain can understand it. I’m not missing what you’re putting out there.
I’m just trying to make it clear that my focus has been on the decision from the Jazz perspective and the decision to draft Ace or not. I don’t want to come off as an Omar defender, but rather a FO defender in their choice to take the guy on top of their board. I don’t think the Jazz should cave in any situation where a player tries to get drafted elsewhere. That’s true whether or not the Jazz are actually a good situation, the intentions/motivations behind the preferred destination, and the tactics (public or private) deployed to get the player to the preferred destination.
If anything, the poor situation/guidance makes me higher on Ace the individual.
If Dawkins offered Omar a job, they both should get ****ed. Just backchannel it to the beat reporters or Jazz and they can deal with it.But also... if this stuff is true it would be tampering/collusion that would warrant some investigation imo. that's true. monday is the deadline, but they nearly always (may not even need the "nearly" qualifier here) show up by friday or saturday and that's with a normal thursday draft.Ksl sports just talked about how no utah rookies have ever been asked to show up before Monday. The narrative with Ace has only projected why he isn't here yet even though he hasnt or has utah ever asked rookies to come to utah before monday
If it happened the Jazz are 100% aware of it. So are the beat writers. If Dawkins offered Omar a job, they both should get ****ed. Just backchannel it to the beat reporters or Jazz and they can deal with it.
Just so you know, this is playing out in my head as Omar strolling into Ainge’s office with his flooded watch, Jay Z playing on speaker from his phone. “Give me the same thing Washington was offering and we’ve got a deal.”If it happened the Jazz are 100% aware of it. So are the beat writers.
I think friends and family and other influencers have been hired in the past in nba teams. It would be hard to say it without proof in this situation.
I do think, even as a homer, this org will be one of the best outcomes it could have been for Ace. Ironically... this is a pretty good outcome his manager got him in.
Wizards GM, Presti protege.Who is Dawkins?
