Why am I not surprised by this ..lol..I’m rarely triggered
That last sentence is so true. With the kids at the elementary school I'm always telling them to get closer to the hoop and attempt shots that they are more likely to make (and that they have good form on) but they just want to chuck airballs from half court in the hopes that 1 in 30 chucks goes in and they can gloat and brag about it.It could be many things, but as a former D1 shooting coach I can tell you a lot of it is in game confusion. What I mean by that is when we correct form, it is easier to use a modified form when shooting lots of reps in practice, but in game shots often revert to the old form or something in between, and those are often really bad until the player makes the new shot instinctual. And some never do, which is why we don't often fully reform a shooters shot just make tweaks.
It is easier to learn good form when young, but unfortunately most systems I see encourage 3 pt shots at too early an age which encourages poor form as kids aren't generally strong enough to get these shots off with proper form.
The Curry effect is a double edged sword. Kids focus more on shooting, but want to shoot 3s too fast. It is rare I see kid level coaches stopping it. And often they encourage it.That last sentence is so true. So dumb. They all seem to really hate layups.
One other note. I love it that the best shooter in the school last year was a 3rd grade girl. It cracked me up watching the boys get all butthurt that she is a better shooter than them. She can also throw and catch a football better than many of the boys. And she isn't a tomboy either. She is a girly girl but just happens to be really coordinated. Its awesome. I told her parents they should put her in rec basketball and they didn't even know she knew how to play basketball.
I didn’t think that. I thought you were just being bitchy for fun ??Why would you think I’m triggered?
Neither bitchy for fun or triggered. Just relaying what I saw in SL. I tend to be brutal in my honesty at times. I just don’t think he’s that good and it’s SL.I didn’t think that. I thought you were just being bitchy for fun ??
