Following Potential 2026 Draftees

I wonder if Karin Lopez got trapped in a multi-year deal or something. Can’t imagine NBL competes with NCAA money wise.
He couldnt go NCAA even if he wanted to after playing a year professionally. They probably just thought it was better for his development/stock, but yeah, seems like a crazy decision to me.

Who can and cannot play in the NCAA is unclear and confusing. So many pros will be playing in the NCAA next year. Guess it depends on the type of contract someone signs….if Lopez signed a deal that made him ineligible, his management fumbled the bag.

To ground myself on NBL stats here are a few NBA players that played in the NBL:

Josh Giddey 2021 Adelaide: 32mpg/10.9pts/6.2reb/7.5ast/1.6stocks 43/29/69 shooting splits
LaMelo Ball 2020 Hawks: 31.3mpg/17pts/7.6reb/6.8ast/1.7stocks 38/25/72 shooting splits
Osmane Dieng 2022 New Zealand: 20mpg/8.9pts/3.2reb/1.1ast/0.9stocks 40/27/67 shootingsplits

I am thinking, maybe just hoping, that the Jazz are rigged to get dybansta. It wa a wink wink. You will get the 5th pick so we can reward other teams but we got you in 2026. Dybansta is yours.

After the Jazz had lost the Cooper Flagg sweepstake, Gilbert Arenas already proclaimed that the Jazz are in line for the next 1# pick in 26'. We shall see. lol

I can see the appeal of Ament. Super long. Handles pretty well. Shoots all over the floor. Shoots off the dribble. Body has a long way to go. Lack of physical presence is holding him back. Not the ideal guy for Ace to play next to, but probably has one of the top-5 ceilings in this draft.

If the Jazz can't get one of the top 3 guys, I might be drawn to Tounde, in part because the Jazz still need an on-ball creator who can force action and make defenders collapse. Tounde is physical and should have gravity with the ball. Then guys like Ace, Lauri, Brice, Keyonte, Flip, Taylor, etc. would be able play off of his drives.

It looks like Dash's team, Melbourne, will be playing the Pelicans in Melbourne on October 3rd. It will be interesting to see Fears vs Dash for portions of the game.

At the moment, I'd put the top 5 as:
1) Peterson
2) Dybantsa
3) Boozer
4) Ament
5) Tounde
Then Lopez & Cenac at 6 & 7.
Then Mikel Brown at about 8.
Caleb Wilson at UNC is a wildcard.

The Sixers are in a tenuous situation this season, as their injury problems from last season seem to be carrying over. Neither Embiid nor PG are going to be ready to start the season, and McCain could be out for a while with a hand injury. The Thunder own the Sixers FRP, only top-4 protected this year.
