The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Jesus... Cedric Coward is killing it for the Grizzlies, something Ace supposed to be doing for the Jazz. Hopefully, it's a minor setback for Ace.

Btw, someone should make a thread for a 2025-2026 rookie watch. I ain't doing it, but these rookies should be entertaining to watch.
Coward was one of the worst looking rookies in the preseason, but has been one of the best in the regular season.

I watched the Spurs/Nets game just now:

- Wemby is a cheat code and too good to not build a contending team faster. The Spurs need to upgrade a bunch of positions and they have the assets to do it. Stop slow playing this.

- Harper vs Demin for chunks of the game and Harper was much much better.

- The BKN draft is currently looking like a complete disaster.

Some of Brooklyn's guys may be fine but to come out of this draft with the guys they did... with as many picks as they had. Rough.

This rookie class actually looking like the real deal.

I was thinking the opposite. Just in comparison to the 2023 draft, it feels like there were more rookies from that class that started out in real rotation/starting roles vs this class. I have a bit of time so might do a comparison.

I feel like all of the top 7-8 guys this year have been good or shown somethings besides Ace. Certainly exceeding my expectations, but I became pessimistic about this class.

OK, I found my post from back in the 2023 draft thread. On opening night there were 3 starters and an additional 9 rotation players. At 10% in to the season there were 8 starters, an additional 9 rotation players, and 4 players getting spot rotation minutes.

So far from the 2025 draft there 2-5 starters (Flagg and VJ definitely, Kon, NIque and Kalkbrenner have started a game, but I'm not sure if that will stick), and 16ish rotation players. I haven't been as detailed as I was with the 2023 draft so I'm not sure who is really in the rotation vs just getting garbage time/injury replacement.

So, yeah, I would say that I was wrong, this draft class looks extremely good right now.
