2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

I doubt they could afford to pay all of them esp since Kessler will be a RFA and Keyonte extension eligible.
They can afford it for at least a year. If everyone’s good then you can probably net some stuff trading pieces off.

I personally am weary of our defensive woes so Reeves doesn’t appeal to me much right now (unless they somehow turn Key into Anthony Black or something).

Garza is playing really well for BOS. So maybe Nurk isn’t a real option for them. I’m not actually sure of any other good destinations for him. LAL? GSW?

I think Rich Paul is right though. The smart thing for the Lakers to do would be trades Reaves. I just wouldn't go for JJJ. Id go for Trey Murphy.

But why would Reaves want to re-sign in New Orleans?
I doubt AR has that much value as an unrestricted FA unless he essentially agrees to a deal with his new team. I think they have to hope they can work a sign and trade or sign him to a deal that they can trade later. The thing to do would be to get an LA discount and then move him lol.

Guessing LA is still #1 on his list even with being second fiddle to Luka. Bron will be gone so the Rich Paul noise can be ignored.

I think those are the other spots that make sense fit and salary match wise.

I think Nurk is actually part of the plan going forward. Either as a backup or insurance if Walker is traded or leaves. I think he will let us sit him because they may have some sort of agreement that we will bring him back with a room exception or BAE or something type contract. Like I think they will have him "available" for trade but may have had the conversation about if he isn't moved they may play him sparingly but will take care of him and have a role for him.

I think this is right. I don't mind it as I don't think trading Nurk would have the major tanking effect that some would. I do think we should open at least two roster spots for revolving door type guys. Anderson seems like a given to leave, so one more of Nurk/Love/Niang should be traded or bought out.

I agree. Nurk has played much better than expected. Jazz has to find a way to keep him either as a backup or insurance as you stated.

I think KA and Love will be moved in the deals we do with our trade exceptions. There are a lot of scenarios where we can take back expiring salary or do two for ones that yield second round picks. One guy has to get waive in some of those. They could do KA for someone then waive that person but would have to be done before deadline week.
