I believe if you were to draw a line at tanking, you’d find a pretty tight correlation between those on one side of the line being fans of a franchise, and those on the other fans of a player. From that context, everything else makes more sense.

LOL.
Tankers are an unbelievably marginal group. The biggest delusion of all is that this forum of galaxy-brained, 4D-chess-playing, Tankathon-reading armchair GM's somehow represents the fanbase at large.
I'd say easily 99% of "fans of the franchise" are against tanking. And considering how small the hardcore tanker contingent is, it's funny how they're the ones trying to gatekeep "True Fandom".

Remember when Ace was out a week with an illness? It will take him a few days to ramp up too.

Regardless of how many jazz fans are for or against tanking, one thing is for sure. The jazz organization is in fact tanking. Since im a fan of the jazz, I want them to succeed at whatever goal it is that they are trying to achieve. So if you are against tanking right now then you are kind of against the jazz being successful at achieving their goal.
There is no logical reason to not tank at this point
This is the part that bothers me. If someone doesn’t want to tank because they just don’t like it I don’t really care to tell them what to enjoy. But that’s a different conversation than what is best for the franchise. People have been calling tanking some “religious” cult or whatever without providing rational and logical alternatives. I am so open to another path besides tanking if I believe it’s better. I did not think tanking was a better play than trading Rudy+Don, for example. But I never really see an argument presented for why tanking isn’t the way to go right now.
I’m probably gonna regret saying this but I think they might play themselves beyond our concern. I think they’ll be ready to make some noise next year.
What a massive week for us. Absolutely executed to perfection. We are now 2 wins behind the Hornets and 3 behind the Mavericks. 6th spot is our floor if we continue to be serious about it.
I’m hoping the org’s goals are to get as low as 3rd or 4th rather than just barely keeping the pick. If it’s the latter, it’s gonna be a really stressful 4 months.
