I respect everybody's religion, but I don't buy into the ideal that any religion is a good one as long as it is helping that individual become a better person. Sure, it's good in theory but it's the equivilant of holding an athletic competition and giving everybody who participated a gold medal. For the most part I'm not very religious because I will admit that it puzzles the hell out of me. If there is a god, he certainly can't be on board with everybody. Every single religion teaches that THEY are the right one. That scares the **** outta me because if that's true, that means there's quite a few people who are going to be ****ed come judgement day. The Jews, Christians, Muslims, Atheists can't all be right.
And while I'm not an Atheist, they do bring up a good point that us religious people seem to cling to: Why do we need a god/belief structure in order to become better people? Why not just be a decent person and treat everybody with kindness because it's the right thing to do?
