Following potential 2012 draftees

Ach, soooo many 3 point kick outs.
And 3 point kickout in a fast break is a usually terrible choice. I don't know whether to blame his wings or him.
1:44 is impressive....actually a lot of passes from the Montana game are impressive.

SwishScout.com doesn't believe in his passing skills.

Even more rumblings (generally speaking) about Darius Miller. In last night's F4 game, he scored right on his tourney average of 13pts .. and played tough d all night.

I think the concerns about the competition go both ways but it isn't a major factor to me. Think about Karl Malone and John Stockton and even Steve Nash, they all went to small schools and didn't play against the greatest competition. There are many examples of players succeeding and failing from both small and big schools.

The real question is, "Does the kid have NBA talent/skills/heart/work ethic?" Players certainly need the physical talent to make it in the NBA, but what keeps them in the league is their approach to the game both mentally and physically. I haven't seen Lillard play very much but from what I've see the kid has NBA physical talent and an NBA type game. He seems like a good kid who works very hard. I would have no problem picking him over Marshall. I think it is a toss up between the two. It depends what you are looking for when you are drafting. If you want the best passer then you take Marshall and you take Lillard if you need shooting or scoring. I personally think the Jazz need a PG who can shoot as well as pass and for that reason I would take Lillard.

However, I will have to see how both compete at the combine to push me one way or the other. This potential decision is similar in ways to the decision to take Hayward over George. Both players turned out to be very good and I believe both teams won with their picks. It is funny how people are still debating who was the better pick. I am sure the debate between Marshall and Lillard will continue even after the draft.

It was nice that you showed some of Lillard's turnovers too. In the highlights it seemed as though he would rather kick it out than break guys down and get into the lane.

Just a question. If you had Marshall, Lillard and Rivers on the board, even though Rivers would probably play the 2, would you consider drafting him over the two PGs?

And I know you have alec burkes at the 2 as well. I think rivers and burkes would either be an amazing combo. Although Rivers could cause some trouble as well

It's a good question. I think Rivers has the 'it' factor above the rest. I do NOT think he's a PG .. or even close .. but he's just a kid that will not be denied and can do anything he sets his mind to. Having said that, I'd probably call BPA in this order; Rivers, Marshall, Lillard .. but I could accept those three in any order .. tough call.

More of Sullinger and why he may disappoint a team with a lottery pick. OSU vs. Kansas. My problem with Sullinger (going back 320+ pages) is he struggles against taller guys. I predicted a KU win last night because I felt Withey (a 7' guy not showing up on any mocks, anywhere) would be a problem for Sullie. Withey ended the game with 7 blocks and Sullinger ended shooting 5 of 19. He's an undersized, non-athletic, center ..

He blocks 15% of all shots when he is on the floor vs. Davis's 13% (according to a tweet from DX).

That's a fun new little stat. How about an easy one to grasp? Davis equals 180 blocks on the year to Withey's 136. How about UK gains possession of nearly 70% of Davis' blocked shots to Withey's 32%? How about everyone in the nation calls Davis the best shot blocker in the country ... some are even calling him, perhaps, the best since Oden or even further back?

Nope, everyone not named Cyrone-the-UK-hater, knows Davis is by far the best defensive guy/shot blocker in the country. You shoudl have just let me bail you out with my "April Fools!"

Just saying what Draftexpress said. Not my opinion. UK also plays a faster pace, and Davis plays more MPG than Withey. In 7 less MPG, he averages 1 less block than Davis. I don't think it's that ridiculous to think Withey could very well be a better shot blocker.

Well .. if Withey were going to a combine and measurements were able to be compared, I think it would be more apparent to those (you) who has any doubt. But as it stands, Withey will be heading back for his senior year and Davis on to the #1 pick in the draft.
