What's new

What are your top 3 places to hang out in SLC?

I was at the Fashion Place Mall a week or so ago...didn't look all that redone to me. Had it been more than 25 years since you were there last?

They just did the redid the food court, added an italian restaurant, big H&M, and a crate and barrel store (WTF, right?). They are also closing down the Sears by 2013.

I live by the Sears Grand in Jordan Landing and can't for the life of me figure out how they keep that place open. Employees outnumber customers by about 4:1 anytime I'm there. Good thing they have milk and frozen food, it's my go-to one stop shop when I can't make it to the walmart right next door.

This is the kind of stuff I miss about drinking. I loved going to little out-of-the-way places and discovering cool people and different atmospheres.

There are things I don't miss about drinking, however.

His buddy really brings the picture together.

Are you on drugs?

They redid the entire inside as well as the food court.

Added Crate and Barrel, H&M, and the Apple Store and moved Nordstrom to the other side.

Also Cheesecake Factory is there and would not come to Fashion Place unless it was REMODELED.

I guess let's say I'm not impressed.

I don't care if you are impressed. The fact is that it's been remodeled which is what you bitched about.

On a side not Fashion Place is the best option in the valley without having to go downtown.

Different stores doesn't equal a remodel, in my opinion. On the inside it's still the same old ****hole.

I used to go to Liquid Joes on Saturdays. The Spazmatics put on an entertaining show, especially when you're hammered.

Also used to go to karaoke nights at A Bar Named Sue from time to time.

They redid the floors and ceiling and the entire food court. You are special.

Yeah, I thought it looked like *** and that they had more work to do. I mean, you're talking about a food court in a mall. Fashion Place mall is nice and new again because there are new tables and chairs in front of Sbarro's. With new tile like they have in the food court Fashion Place mall is a better place to hang out than downtown, where they have performing arts, sports, clubs, restaurants (that can't be found in your typical food court), interesting people, old buildings, etc. Yeah, I'm the idiot because the new facade didn't trick me into thinking it was a new mall and an ample substitute to the downtown area.

If you come to Salt Lake go no farther than the Fashion Place Mall. It represents the cultural heart of Utah (and has new tile in the food court to boot!).

I haven't been to a mall since I was in high school. If it's not at Wal-Mart, it ain't for me.

I loved the Metal Gods when they used to play there a lot. Spazmatics were good too.

Dude doesn't like the mall, give it a rest. Only time I'm in the mall is to fantasize about shoes I only wish I could afford.

Wow I bet you've at least seen my sister and her friends then, they'd go there whenever they played (I think my sister's friend was dating one of the band members well not sure you truly date somebody in a band it was probably more like sleeping with) don't really have a point so I'll just stop typing now.
