Golf

Buuuuuull Shiiiiiiz.

I love golf. Favorite sport to play. Im a 1 handicap and my goal is to be scratch by the end of this Summer.

Anybody watching The Masters? My favorite sports event of the year.

Dude, you've seen me. I'm 6'3" and used to walk around at 250lbs. I swing over 125 MPH. I've overshot par 4's at Parkway, and Old Mill and I was banned from using my driver at Mick Riley because 8 out of 10 would clear their fence and end up on the course. I've maybe swung my driver 10x in the last 12 months and I'm positive I could out-drive anyone here. I've been in two long drive contests, but never placed because I couldn't hit the bastage straight.

Golf sucks, btw.

I grew up on a golf course as a kid and would jump on right before they closed and would play about 5 holes and then go home. Played a lot of golf as a kid. I haven't played in over 5 years and just went out and played 18 holes this weekend and loved every second of it. Finally found a pair of clubs that are perfect for me. I'm going to start golfing at least 2-3 times a week now.

Tiger Woods swings at 125%.

Speaking of long drives, I have two friends that can out of pretty much any range in the state. Oh, they're professionals and scary good.

Play to an 8.5 Handicap right now (High 70's, Low 80's) on most days.

This will be my 7th year playing.

After High School and College I couldn't play competitive sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball in HS and Football in College) any longer and some friends at work really were into golf. Lets say I couldn't help myself and ended up at the range twice per week and playing weekly.

7 Years later - I am still hooked.

So far this year
Trip to St. George/Mesquite
72 Holes in 3 Days

Probably been out a total of 6 times so far as well - some 18 holes and some 9 holes.

If ANYONE is getting into playing go get a lesson or two. Also get FITTED for your clubs. Makes a world of difference!

I think Trout is talking about pure driving speed, with no accuracy at all. Obviously Woods has accuracy with power. It isn't that hard to swing a driver fast if you aren't worried about accuracy.

I'm going to get a season range pass at Thanksgiving Point tomorrow seeing how I've been hitting a lot of balls lately. If anyone ever wants to go hit with me, let me know. It would be fun. Trout, I'd love to verify you can drive 360 yards. I watched the longest drive competition in Mesquite just a few months ago, and that would have put you in the top 3 guys.

Get me a decent left handed club and I bet I can still do it. It has been years since I've actually golfed or tried, and all I have is the Biggest Big Bertha driver, which was bomb.com at the time -- but now, not so much.

Sorry trout but you don't drive the ball 360....

I will bet money and put a grand on it.

Most everyone thinks they hit it 300.... not many do. There is a reason why the OEM's have less than stiff shifts listed as stiff.

Only way you hit it 360 is if it is downwind in a storm like we had a few weeks back.

Only person I've seen hit it a true LEGIT 360 was the boys from Rosepark at the Utah State Amature and that was on the driving range. They even were probably not pushing 360.

Again... a grand and I will bring cash in hand Trout.

I would like to purchase a ticket to watch Trout try and drive it 360 + for $1,000 please.

Ive known probably 2 people that could drive the ball that far, so if you can, I'm truly impressed.

Played my first round of the season at Hidden Valley yesterday. It was brutal. Probably the worst I have played in 5 years.

I'm in on purchasing a ticket. I say we make an over under on the distance and we can all have our own little wagers on trout driving it 360. Maybe the line will go down to say like 320 yards to make it competitive.

I can assure you that there isn't more than maybe 1 or 2 pros or amatuers in all of utah that can hit it 360 yards without being downhill or downwind. It is possible, but very rarely done if when guys are swinging their a## off. All of the professional tournaments I played in I don't think I ever saw anyone hit it 360 without being downwind or downhill. An above average pro in length probably hits it slightly over 300 yards maybe 320 max.

I was a golf pro for 8 years in Arizona and Utah. Before that I had worked at a golf course since I was 15 years old. Started playing golf when I was 9 years old, got hooked. We would get dropped off everyday at the golf course during the summer, was an absolute blast. I quite professional golfing 3 years ago as it was tough to make good money, and I wasn't good enough to compete for big money. I still play probably once a month, but am probably only a 2-3 handicap anymore as I don't really practice any longer.

Here's my comment I left on the video.

I couldn't drive worth a lick. I was getting so frustrated because I could hit my irons and my hybrids pretty well and consistant. When I golf I usually use my Nickent 3dx 3 Hybrid to T-off with. I watched this video last night and went to the range today and tried out the advice. I'm not kidding you, it made a world of difference. I was consistantly hitting straight between 275 and 325 yards. I was having so much fun I hit two large buckets of balls. It serously helped mygolfselfesteem.

hehepeepeecaca. Someone learned to put...errr... I mean drive.

Also, I like how Trout went Katie_MCR on us.
