10+ years is not uncommon. I'm not saying he should be on the Olympic team, but the guy is a serviceable player and should have no problem staying in the league.
What happened to Steve Francis?

Wow CT, did Evans cost you some money at some time? Your dislike isnt close to legit based on what he has done since he came into the league.
I sort of agree that him and Rose might not be a great back court, but damn, Id take it for the Jazz at this time.
Memphis might be changing its tune on Rudy Gay now that it has been sold. Rudy Gay and #25 pick for Evans and the #5. Memphis could draft Barnes or Kidd-Gilchrist at 5 and have the money to re-sign OJ Mayo. Memphis would have a deep and really good team: Conley, Evans, Allen, Randolph, Gasol with Mayo and Barnes/Gilchrist off the bench. Watch out OKC.
What happened to Steve Francis?
I couldn't tell you how long he lasted in the league, but I'd say he had a good 7-8 years. But what if I think Tyreke is better than Francis?
Francis' career ended because knee tendenitis robbed him of his quickness and explosiveness. Prior to that, teams still valued him and both the Magic (at age 28 he was the centerpiece in the TMac deal) and the Knicks traded for him. Francis could be a mental-case and definitely not a player I would have wanted on my team, but he had alot of value to alot of teams before his knee started acting up.I can tell you what happened. He was out of the league at age 30. He was also a rookie of the year. He also had a bad attitude. He was actually better than Evans.

I'm sure Francis was great, maybe he was better than Tyreke, but I'm pretty sure he had some injuries that lead to his demise (he probably could have bounced back had he had better attitude), but I put Tyreke as one of the 5 most athletic freaks in the game right now with Lebron, Westbrook, Blake & whoever I missed. I feel comfortable that he'll be playing in the league in 2019.
I won't be surprised if he isn't.
He was declining long before that. He was traded multiple times. He could have made a comeback, but no one wanted him.
Dude Brian Scalibrine is getting on teams. Tyreke Evans will have no problem staying in the league.
Mcgrady was brought up here.. I don't think you can say McGrady had a bad career or anything. Yes, he didn't when a championship but, really good players don't always win championships. Mcgrady averaged 32pts 6.5 reb 5.5 apg and 1.7 spg in 2003. Is a 7 time all-star. 2 time 1st Nba team, 3 time 2nd team, 2 time 3rd team. That is an extremely impressive resume in terms of individual performance. He has been in talks for the HOF.
Jerry Sloan is one of the greatest coaches of all time and never won a ship. I don't think winning is always everything when it comes to evaluating talent.
Injuries destroyed Steve Francis career. Plus he was a hot dog, and a hot head. He played more like a street-baller at the time. After his injuries he went on to start his own business'. He just had enough, there was an article in dime magazine about a year ago that talked about it.
McGrady could shoot much better than Evans and didn't have as bad as attitude problems. McGrady also led teams to the playoffs. He didn't do anything there, but he at least got there.
Evans isn't the best or 2nd best player on a playoff team. If he continues to get paid like that, or is pursued by teams with the thought of him being a cornerstone he will stay out of the playoffs. If he goes to the Bulls he will obviously make it, probably as a bench player.
Were talking about a kid that is 22. All this is moot until the end of his career. Currently he is not some washed up player. He can contribute to a team, and is one of the more exciting players in the league. His numbers don't lie. Lets wait till he is done before we write him off as a loser.
What can he contribute? Dominating the ball, turning it over a lot, not being efficient, not being able to shoot? Those are all things I want from a role player on my team.
He is one of the players who has the game of a superstar, but isn't a hard enough worker or smart enough to be a superstar. The result is having a ball dominant guy who isn't good enough to get away with being ball dominant.
The frustrating part about this is you have no idea how hard he works. You have no idea what his ambitions are or if he wants it. Yes I do agree he turns the ball over a lot but that happens with ball-dominant players. Shooting can be fixed, give him time. I guess we agree to disagree, I really do see your concerns. But, my opinion is highly different on what his future is in the league.
Seeing as he hasn't improved since his rookie year and his jumper hasn't improved, I'm willing to bet he hasn't worked hard enough. That, or he just isn't that good and has totally peaked.
According to ESPN article:
"Tyreke Evans' future with the Sacramento Kings is uncertain and Bradford Doolittle of Basketball Prospectus thinks a deal with the Chicago Bulls might work.
In the proposed trade, Evans and the No. 5 pick in the 2012 draft would go to Chicago for Joakim Noah and the No. 29 pick."
Basically Noah for Evans and 5th pick. I think this guy is smoking crack..but if thats the case, Jefferson + GS Pick for 5th and Evans.
Evans is a headcase but he could give us that go to scorer that we desperately need
