What's new

Im buying Westbrook stock.

Westbrook is one of the stupidest players I've ever seen in the NBA. He has so much talent and no brain cells. The Thunder (or any team of that matter) will never win a championship with him until he learns to play second fiddle. He has arguably the best player in the world on his team and he refuses to pass to him. Westbrook's idea of basketball is to get the ball and run as fast as he can to the hoop and chuck it. Freaking garbage.

Interesting conclusion you and other have come to considering the Thunder were better this year in games in which he took more shots than Durant, than when he didn't.

If I were OKC, I'd trade Westbrook and install Harden as my PG. Westbrook is another Iverson, a guy who can do it all by himself but will never win the big one because he doesn't make his teammates better -- he scores 43 but did OKC win? End of story.

Yeah something like this could use some sort of factual data. I find it hard to believe.

I do not like Westbrook at all. He shoots as many as durant but doesn't score nearly as many. He is a value scorer. If he was smarter with his shot selection he would be very good.

Just imagine how many more games they would win if he learned it wasn't about, dribble and pull up for random jump shot or drive with my head down completely out of control towards the basket and chuck it. Is Westbrook goo? No. He's amazing. His basketball IQ is like Vince Young's Wonderlic score. So much talent that's managed by zero fundamentals.

Oh, BTW, I think OKC would have won a ton of games this year w/o Durant or Westbrook because of their depth. Just saying.

I wouldn't say stupidest, sometimes it just seems he is playing so hard and fast that he gets ahead of himself. I can really appreciate how intense he is and how aggressive he plays. If he ever learns to control that a bit more, he can easily be a top 10 player. He is only 22 or 23, so he is far from a finished product.

The one thing Westbrook does add to the Thunder is that he can get his shot at anytime. He seems to be able to get to the rim at will and has the energy to do so the entire game. Sometimes when I watch Durant, I don't see that same fire in attacking and see him settling or deferring.

The funny thing is the Thunder seem to mirror their opponent. They played against the Spurs and they miraculously started passing really well and rotating the ball. Now they are playing the Heat and are copying their ISO dominated style.

Yeah Westbrook and Fisher are the only guys that I do not like on the Thunder. Everyone has bought into that system except Westbrook. It is all about him and always will be.

They don't have a "system", they are an ISO-based team.

Westbrook had a dumb foul at the end of the game. BUT, he was the reason they were in the game. Durant had TWO rebounds, three assists and three turnovers. Why does Durant get a pass for being passive (yes, two rebounds is being passive and shows lack of effort), but Westbrook gets hammered for trying?

Durant was out rebounded by Chalmers, Wade, Battier and Jones, all much smaller players.
