Millsap/GSW Pick for Fredette/#5 Pick?

i'm not saying we're going to get him for 50 cents on the dollar. just that if we do that this summer, we can avoid a bidding war.

well then we have the problem of too much young, big talent. a lot of teams would love to have to figure that one out.

i still think if you keep millsap, it's so that he can start. he's clutch, he's efficient, and by most measures he has been our best player lately. i think kanter has to wait until he can rip that out of paul's hands.

That's why I said unless we trade Kanter for some proven player (Rondo) or a high draft pick in this year's draft - say Beal.

I'd actually prefer Favors and center and Millsap at PF too.

Kanter & Favors just won't work.. they're both Center IMO (Favors just can't guard stretch 4 on the perimeter).

If you take Jimmer out of the trade, I do it in a heartbeat. Tell Sac to just keep him...or trade him to Mia for....whatever.

Aside from the following being incredibly, incredibly annoying, how does this one man ruin the team?

I don't know how he ruins the team, with that said imagine 100 heaven Harris type fans in who worship the Jimmer.

Armageddon!!! That's all I'm going to say.

The only thing that saves jazzfanz is if Jimmer started and ends up being our best player, and I don't see that happening.

i don't think it matters too much who's the 4 and who's the 5, as long as you have somebody big out there. most teams just put two bigs, two wings and PG out there, so i think favors/kanter, kanter/millsap, and favors/millsap are all fine... and in fact, each of those groups has some distinct strengths.

then the question is, who is the fourth big? is it tomic? is it somebody we get back in an al trade? obviously that changes the dynamic a bit, but i'd still say favors-kanter-sap is your 3 man rotation and the 4th guy takes the 2011-12 kanter role: brief minutes in each half, plus extra time if someone gets hurt or in foul trouble.

If you can move Al, Tomic is the perfect 4th big guy. He is huge, has potential, can give you spot minutes, may or may not be on the team in 2-3 years.

I think you are very wrong about this.

Agreed. He just needs more experience doing it. He is use to protecting the rim, then he has a guy leaking out on him as he has to anchor our defense and check a guy on the 3pt line. He will get it, he has great defensive ability.

Jimmer is no more than jj reddick, which I think we would be happy with.

It isn't Jimmer the basketball player that is the problem. It is Jimmer the Mormon god that we need to be worried about that. The BYU folk have started cults following this guy around. He was asked to leave BYU because he caused such a distraction in classes. This is the guy that got Jazz tickets up in the hundreds for crap seats when Sac came into town last year.

Could we just use him as the new mascot?

Could someone please tell me where the term "stretch 4" came from? I don't mean what it is, I mean specifically the term applied as a "stretch 4" because it seems like 3 months ago I'd never heard this term applied and now it's commonplace.

1- Thank you for starting some crazy Jimmer rumor. I didn't realize how much I missed this stuff.

B- As someone that watched quite a few Sacramento games, I can say you can't learn much about Jimmer from that team. While he was beat out by Isaiah Thomas, it is based on a team that is very selfish and no discernable game plan other than each player tries to beat their player one on one. Who knows if it will be different when he is on an actual team.
He did show some flashes of suckiness, but it's tough to judge how bad when he's on a team full of bad defenders that don't help much. Most players will be beat one on one. When teams play good defense it is when they limit how many times they get beat along with how well they help each other. Long story short, not much can be learned from last year. He was as bad defensively as some of us thought, worse shooting than expected overall, and had a few flashes of being able to play.

4- Jimmer!!!!

Being from Vegas I don't know if this is an exaggeration or not. I know they like him up there, but is it really that bad?

No, it is not that bad. It maybe as bad as Linsanity, Tebowing, people crying for Michael Jacksons death, or passing out when they meet Obama, but he has not been elevated to god status nor are there cults. Just like every other fad in American culture Jimmermania would have burned out in 6 months even if he hadn't fallen on his face in Sacto.

A trade to Jazzland might breath a little life into Jimmermania, but him riding the pine night after night will soon temper that.

I wonder what it would take to Evans? I think a Millsap or Evans would work out great for both teams. And I wonder what it would to actually get Jimmer?
