What's new

With the 47th Pick, Kevin Murphy

You lose it if you don't use it. The Jazz see this as the best opportunity to use it.

Who the **** cares what Greggy boy has to pay? If he is willing to do it, I couldn't give a **** about how much $$$ he has to shell out. It's not like acquiring Maurice will change our FA flexibility in 2013.

Kevin O'Connor said letting Mo Williams get away in 2004 was his "worst mistake."

This might have something to do with it. KOC seems to regard Williams very highly indeed.....

But we do lose that trade exception plus the Millers have to pay $8.5m more for a back up PG. Also with both Harris & Williams fighting for the starting spot - that ain't a happy family IMO.

There must be another angle we're not aware of........

If he's nothing more than a bench scorer, we win. From a fans standpoint, the money means nothing and we VERY much needed a guy off the bench that could CONSISTENTLY score. I'm confused how it's bad.

I'm not just looking at it from purely a fan's stand point.

All I'm saying is there must be another piece to the puzzle to warrant Greggy boy over there shelling out an extra $8.5m for a back up PG when we already have Harris & Watson on contract.

Yeah, but it drastically changes our flexibility in 2012. Getting Mo for the TPE without some kind of pick coming back, while simultaneously helping both Dallas and LA, is just foolish.

It helps us too. You can't be paranoid about making a deal just because it helps another team. I don't think the Jazz are looking to make any other deals in 2012. They want expirings and people that can help the team out.

Well we don't - but he still have to sign off on the deal. Knowing how much of a tight a** they are I'm surprised he'd be willing to pay $8.5m extra on a back up PG.

The Jazz have been one of the highest payroll teams for the past 5 years.

This all the way. When did having a 39% career 3pt shooter who can play become a bad thing?

Yeah when we were contenders with DWill on board. Now our co-captains are Jefferson/Millsap.

And the Jazz are setting their roster so they have clear books in 2013 to spend money. They are taking a contract for a year on a player who can improve the team now and isn't a long term commitment that will hurt flexibility in their biggest off-season.

3 way sending Lamar Odom back 2 Clips, Mo Williams to Utah & clearing cap room 4 Dallas is close to done, but nor yet official, per sources.

Hopefully we see more of the details on this tonight.

I'm not saying I don't want Mo Williams. All I'm saying is - if Greg is willing to sign off on paying $8.5m extra this year - may be there is something else we're getting back in addition to Williams.

That's all I'm saying, but we'll see soon enough.
