I think we keep Jefferson. We know have 3 good 3pt shooters as starters (Marvin has improved his 3pt shooting a lot). They will see how the 3pt model works with him.

Then Millsap would have to come off the bench. I'm not watching Favors stuck on the bench for another season.

The KOC haters will never give him any due, not until he makes impossible moves like trading for Dwight Howard or signing James Harden.

I'd actually like him less if he traded for that bitch Dwight. Unless his intent was to flip him.

7-8 is a bit high, but during his career he has had several 6ish assist averages and one 7. The point is that he can assist.

What the Jazz have done so far are incremental improvements at best. Certainly not game changers. Jury is still out.

Their biggest game changing hope is that atleast one of the kids makes a big leap this offseason. If that doesnt happen, then the Jazz are stuck with mediocrity. They will be a perennial 6th-8th seed at best

Obviously you have to hope you've hit a home run somewhere with the 4 lottery picks you have in Favors, Kanter, Hayward and Burks.

I think Favors and Burks will take big steps forward. Kanter is a couple years away. And Hayward was so disappointing last season I don't know what to expect.

Really? He blows the trade exception on an undersized 2 guard that he hopes can play the point yet doesn't avg 2 ast a game. Now he trades our best PG away and you love him? Sorry but I am far from praising him right now, more needs to be done. As of right now we have two great backup PG's but no real starting PG.

Are you just making up stuff? Or are you cherry picking his stats from his rookie year? Mo Williams will not be a John Stockton, but he'll average 6-8 assists a game as a starter.

I have to give a personal apology to Kevin. I used to call him Rip Van O'Conner, because he always seemed to be a sleep at the wheel. I have slowly come to the conclusion since having his hands untied he is a pretty good General Manager.

I Really don't know what you expected last year. I know some had huge expectations of him after the Kobe game. What I saw was a 2 nd year player who was much better than he was as a rookie. I think he continues to get better. He will never be an all star but a a guy that can go 17, 5 and 4 would be very valuable on any team. I don't think haywards far off from those numbers.

Glasseater, normally you make good points, but I think you are missing the boat on Hayward. His only problem really was that his shooting was inconsistant. But the boy can play. You have to be excited that we have a 2 that can really defend. Thats a huge plus.

Id take him just for his defense and passing, but his shooting will also come around.

Hayward will be a hell of a player.

Hopefully. He was horrible for the first half of the season. You'd think the rookie jitters would have been over. Maybe he was pressing too hard after the way he ended his first year and then he settled in at the end of the year.

What I think might help is him having a defined role. Perhaps if the rotation is now set with Williams, Hayward and Burks (and a little Carroll as time and score permits), he'll know he's going to play X minutes at SF and X minutes at SG. Might also help to have a full training camp.

I didn't mean to imply he's a scrub. I was just trying to say because of his inconsistency, we're not sure what to expect. Given that he was already a starter playing big minutes, I still think the most internal improvement will come from Favors and Burks. Alec because he'll supplant Bell in the rotation and Favors because I think we'll see one more move. Derrick is ready to start now; he wasn't at the beginning of last season and ended up on the bench again. I hope Jefferson is traded, but I think it may depend on whether or not Millsap can be extended at a reasonable salary.

Agreed!
And Prodigy seems to agree with the Hayward surmise as well.

Also, we traded Deron Williams for:

Marvin Williams (2nd pick)
Derrick Favors (3rd pick)
Enes Kanter (3rd pick)
+ GS first round pick (likely lotto)

Sounds like a steal for the Nets. I would be extatic if we traded Favors + scrubs you mentioned for one of the best PGs in the League right now.

If Deron is one of the top 10 players in the league as many people think he is, then wouldn't you think that NJ would have improved even a little after the trade was made and we would have been at least a little worse? I know it's comparing apples to oranges, but on the flipside look at what happened to NOH and LAC after the CP3 trade.

The last time koc contribited to us making it to the finals was........... Oh THATS RIGHT,,,,HE NEVER HAS!!!!!!

Glad you came back when you did. That dead horse almost moved, it was close. Thank you for saving us.

you had me with the firs part, but did you not watch the second half of the year? Hayward was pretty damn good, and his shot was very consistent over that time. He was still a developing player last year who still made a huge jump from his rookie year, where his playing time was very sporadic until the end of the season. Did you think he'd be a finished product after one year in which he didn't play much, but still had high expectations, and unfairly I might add.

Marvin Williams can hit the three and is a good defender. He can defend the perimeter, which we sorely need. He tends to disappear during stretches of games, so it will be interesting to see how he plays for the Jazz.

The Mo Williams trade is an easy one - he can hit the three and tends to play fairly consistant. He's not going to get a lot of assists, but he should be an upgrade to Harris.
