What must have been hard is that due to league rules, he hadn't been able to talk to KOC or Ty. Wasn't possible until after July 11th when the trade became official.
In another interview, I read that he really likes Hayward's game and was impressed by how hard Utah fought during that 4OT game last year.
He was coming off the bench for most games last year, so I don't think it's going to matter if Hayward starts at the 3 and Burls at the 2, or if he and Hayward start and Alec comes off the bench. He'll still get as many or slightly more minutes than he did last season (26). Sounds like a pretty good character guy with no preconceived notions about SLC. Should fit in well with Mo, Paul, etc.
