AK Sucks in Olympics Operner Vs. GB -- only scores 35

He could've been a better Rodman, who was more skilled then Roman. Rodman didn't have plays called for him ever but he busted his *** every game and gave what ever team he was on what was best for the team. AK didn't need touches to be great.

Wrong example. Rodman was not handed out max contract and was not called "face of franchise". Rodman never had touches and role like AK had for first two years after his max contract.
AK needs touches to be great - you are like Sloan if you do not understand that. See, there is biggest problem - Sloan was great X and O coach but his system was to robotic, to mechanical and he never had ability to tweak or adjust it in regards to unique players he had. All he could do ( with exception of 2003-2004 season which was his best coaching season IMHO ) was to run PG to PF dominated offense, so as soon as he had Deron and Boozer running his old style offense he did not bother how to utilize AK's talents anymore.

Late to thread, but wanted to have a say.

I long believed that the real reason AK was not traded was that Jazz did not want AK to go somewhere and be great. In Utah by Jerry he was misused, ignored and mistreated. But even then he showed he could be brilliant, and had instincts and athleticism to change the game.

Yes, he was injured too often. No he never lifted weights. Yes he was payed the max and aksed to contribute on a level worthy of 6 million/year or less. But was that AK's fault or Sloans? Or was it KOC's fault for signing Matt & Carlos, two guys he knew Jerry would favor?

As a fan I will forever wonder what might have been had the Jazz surrounded their max player with other players and a coach that complimented his game. It would have been exciting to watch.

Great post!

There's no reasoning with these guys, AKMVP. I started this thread to taunt them so they could show how ignorant they are, and sure enough, their stupidity came flowing out like lava from a volcano.

Oh, and Dalamon, running the offense through AK was to take advantage of his passing ability and playmaking. I'll never forget one of his best games against the Lakers when Boozer and Okur were out because of injuries and the Jazz won with Fess playing center. He had 21 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, 3 steals and 3 rebounds -- Deron had 37 points benefiting from a lot of assists from AK -- and the Jazz won, and I even think it was in LA!

AK as the "franchise" player. Kind of like surrounding LeBron, Kobe, Jordan, etc, with players and having them win championships?
The MISTAKE the Jazz made was letting AK BELIEVE he was a MAX player by awarding him that contract. Pau got an undeserved fortune and Larry H. panicked. P. Gasol was never a max player. He had to play off Kobe and others to get his trophies. AK needed to understand he was a complementary piece. A very good one, but nonetheless, not someone who could carry a team on offense. His specialty was defense. Yet, because he didn't get enough "touches" - mainly because when he did, he'd launch up wild 3's - AK BY HIS OWN ADMISSION - played with less intensity on defense. I don't care if you NEVER get a chance to touch the ball on offense; you're being paid MAX money. To mean that means you give MAX effort, especially when you're on a playoff team. It's not like AK was on the Bobcats, Clippers or Kings where his effort (or lack thereof) wouldn't have made much of a difference in terms of making the playoffs and advancing.

He needs touches to be great? Jim Abbott could be paraplegic and be a better ball-handler than AK. Dude has almost no offensive skill outside of passing.

The level of basketball idiocity is dropping lower and lower in this thread. Congrats, you are fighting with The Thriler for most unintelligent/uneducated (about basketball) poster on this board.

Really? What worldly, offensive basketball skills does AK possess other than solid passing? Shooting. Meh. Ability to create own shot. LOL. Ability to drive to the hole. LOLZ. Am I missing something here?
