New NBA site to sell fans' tickets, too
The NBA announced an aggressive move in the ticket landscape Monday, joining forces with Ticketmaster to create the sports world's first website that will list tickets for games sold by both teams and fans.

Granger said that the four teams that use the Dan Gilbert-owned Veritix (Cavaliers, Rockets, Jazz and Nuggets) ... can also opt in to use the system, which will link to their primary and secondary ticketing platforms.

This is bad, I need to go fishing.

It's not THAT bad. Only a little. IMO the best option to buy tickets is still by calling a Jazz ticket rep because you don't have to pay service fees.

Guess I will look this up but I know I've used Flash seats to buy YB's tickets 2yrs ago and then last year I bought several games from there and noticed a service charge, so I wonder if this will be the same site or a new one, and if it is different wonder what will happen to flash seats.

Here's another interesting bit from the article:

Granger said that he expects the idea of the season ticket to change in the coming years, a topic that all the teams are meeting to discuss this week.

"We know we have to position season tickets differently," Granger said. "It is going to be less about buying 41 games and more about being part of a 12-month membership that gives you different access and experiences in and around your area."

I don't love football games live. That's one sport that needs the commentary to fully enjoy.

I totally agree. But people aren't going to pay what is essentially a fee to watch a bunch of criminals selfishly dribble a ball up a court and chuck their team to a losing record.

It sounds kind of like how if you want one particular channel you need to purchase a package of a-bunch-of-****-you-won't-use just to get it. And the NBA sinks to a new low.

What are you guys freaking out about? This changes almost nothing.

If you want a deal, buy tickets on KSL (less sketchy craigslist) or from a scalper. If you want convenience buy them from this site, which is basically the same thing as flash seats.

joining forces with Ticketmaster

Oh great so they can charge ridiculous service fees. **** everything about Ticketmaster. I avoid them at all cost if at all possible.

I sort of agree, but an NFL game live is an Event, where as a Bball game live is a game...at least it seems to me. Replays and commentary certainly make the experience better but that is what smart phones are for.
