James Augustine to euroleague

Augustine was with Orlando for a couple years, but didn't get much playin time (about 6 minutes a game). Improved his game and his confidence with a couple more years in Europe. Probably not a bad back-up, for cheap, especially given that he's a homeboy of Deron's.

Jazz skipped on Benson, Augustine and Davidson, lets be honest they were all second tier to Kofous at the summer league, but the Jazz traded away Kofous to Minny. And by all accounts it was the jazz who insisted he be part of the deal.

I still think KOC has something in the works--atleast it is a possibility-- so he doesn't want to tie his hands with end of the bench contracts. And if it doesn't work out he can probably sign the Collins brothers to vetran minimums.

5 Bigs - Memo AlJeff Millsap Fes Evans
5 Wings - AK CJ Raja Gordon Jeffers(?)
3 Points - Deron RonnieP Gaines(?)

Unless the Jazz find better options than Jeffers and Gaines, they'll probably stick with those 13 to start the season (assuming Fes doesn't go elsewhere).

I just don't see the Jazz filling their roster out with two D leaguers that shouldn't be in the league, a late late second round pick and Fes. I'm fine with Fes and Evans as the 13th man but really don't want to see Gaines and Jeffers. I would rather see Mike James as a vet's minimum and then some other big.

Maybe its me but I would rather have extra bigs then wings.

Gaines was 50% from the line and can't run the offense, he is a scoring point just like Price. Jeffers is a really hard worker but isn't a NBA player.

Evans is worth a spot. He is very athletic and if he can gain weight(A lot) he might be a value off the bench in the future.

I dont think Dwill cares that much about having his friends on the team, I think he wants players with actual talent.

I think Deron wants both: players (1) with talent who don't (2) cause problems with team chemistry. Actually, when you're talking about the 13th-14th man on the squad, having a player who will play hard in practice and be a good cheer-leader is probably more important than talent.

Well as of right now, the player we get wont be a cheerleader. He will actually be a player who will see minutes backing up whoever starts at center until Okur gets back.

Yeah, and whoever we go after will presumably be sought within the parameters set by severe budget restraints, unfortuntately. We're not gunna git a Dwight Howard caliber player for the league minimum, ya know?

My comment was simply: "Probably not a bad back-up, for cheap, especially given that he's a homeboy of Deron's." Now, if we're lookin to spend big money, trade AK, or sumthin, then we aint lookin for a cheap back-up.
