Upcoming New TV Serieseses

So... I finally had time to watch the first episode of "Coppers". Pretty intriguing stuff. Definitely not going to be a "clean" period study. I hope to watch the second episode sometime this weekend. Anybody else watch it?

I watched it, but the damn Irish music ruined it for me.

Just saw revolution,
great ep has potential.
reminded me a lot of jerciho.
too bad it will get canceled

I was about to make a post about Revolution. There's a screening of the premiere episode at the Megaplex 12 at the Gateway tomorrow night. I got an email invite from gofobo. So yeah, it would probably be cool to see it on a huge movie theater screen. I'd go for sure if not for having kids to take care of while my wife's at work.

So did anyone watch the first episode of Revolution? I just watched it a few hours ago and enjoyed it. It's a great premise and I can only hope it gets enough momentum to be around a while.

I turned it off when I saw the teenage girl with a bow and arrow. So stupid. Why does everyone just copy eachother?

Utah Jazz, NFL, college football, Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Seinfeld reruns. Only good things a TV is useful for.

no adult movies??

I don't watch a lot of tv, so I'm not exactly sure about what is being copied. That said, wouldn't it make sense in the context of the show that everyone would be taught how to use a bow and arrow?

I think he is making a vague reference to Kat in Hunger Games, whose weapon of choice is a bow and arrow. In which case I agree with you - it's not a copycat at all, it's within the context of the show and the lack of power and needing a practical weapon. Plus she uses a crossbow, not a bow and arrow.

I liked it. An interesting premise, and definitely has a "Lost" type feel which makes sense, given that it is an Abrams production.

In all fairness that character was around before hunger games. The Hunger Games came out in 2008. The first book of this series came out in 2004. So you were spoon fed the copy first.

Edit: In the books she is a teenage girl with a crossbow for a very short time. I am not sure what story line the show will take so I won't tell you what she does.

Also in my opinion the world this series is based off of is so much more descriptive and fleshed out that the hunger games. By far the better story in my opinion.

One of these days I may get around to start watching Lost.

I also wanted to bring up that Revolution was more violent than expected, but I'm pretty much desensitized to TV and movie violence. I definitely won't watch it until the kids are in bed though.

Lost was a fun ride with a disappointing destination. I say watch it but be prepared for the let down at the end.

Yeah, I've heard that about the ending as well. I guess you finished the series before we did. My kids and I are just at the end of season 4 (or close to it), so one more season to go.

Other old series we've been enjoying recently:
* Better off Ted
* Sports Night

I've been debating whether to watch Lost.

Right now I'm full on in the middle of Season 1 of Game of Thrones. Quite the faithful adaptation - pretty awesome.

It's not that the ending is really so terrible. The last few seasons kind of take a left turn that was odd and it just stays that way. The final season opens several new doors and then seemingly forgets they're still open. I was also very intrigued by the whole Dharma Initiative stuff and had hoped the story would have gone more into fringe science and attempted to explain things that way, but they went way more mystical/supernatural. That's fine, it's just not what I wanted. Hope none of this qualifies as a spoiler.

Sports Night was good. Another older series that I thought was highly underrated was News Radio.

Agree 100%
