^^^ Good post, TT.
Also, I re-read what I typed and realize why it came off so insensitive. It seems I was referring to anxiety disorders in general, when I was actually referring to White, specifically.
In a lot of collegiate and NBA coaching circles, White is perceived as having an attitude problem that, early on, he began blaming on a disorder. I KNOW that sounds insensitive, but hear me out.
When he was in middle school, I believe, he had a coach that was pulling his hair out because he couldn't get Royce to do any tough conditioning. Royce would come up with excuse after excuse.. one day, while the team was running, a friend of his collapsed and was taken to the hospital. Since then, Royce developed a fear of windsprints and was excused from doing them. He was later caught shoplifting and when it was time to fly to another state for his hearing, he couldn't go (and was excused from it) for a fear of flying. There was another issue he got out of when he stole a laptop from a dorm at Minnesota ..
What I was trying to say is, most people that follow the kid's career believe he created this series of stories to suit his liking and he could never unwind what was said so he just rolled with it. Maybe he sincerely developed a fear of windsprints, maybe he seriously is afraid of flying.. but there are many (most) who just don't buy it.
For the record, I really like the kid/guy. I said this many times in the '2012 draft thread.'
