Mormon Temple ceremony.

Would it be acceptable to post a video of a secretly filmed temple marriage ceremony? Or would Mormons find that way offensive?

Edit: I'm actually not sure what kind of ceremony it is, as I can't get through 5 minutes without falling asleep. But given the tone of the guy who sent it to me, seems such a thing is a big taboo in LDS culture.

It's not open to the public because they consider it sacred and want to keep it absolutely private. Of course it's offensive to LDS people.

From skipping through the thing(it's very long), about 70% or more of the ceremony consisted of showing videos explaining religious doctrines. All the faces are blurred out, and the audio is distant, so it's kind of hard to tell exactly what's going on, but the parts of the ceremony that did not include showing movies had a guy blessing people, stuff about giving the priesthood, and general prayers. I don't have the interest to watch a 90 minutes video of people praying, so I don't know the details.

I'll answer this in my two different roles here:
First, as a Mormon: It sickens me when people take something I view as sacred and do what they can to destroy or cheapen it. Why can't people just simply let what others do (as long as it doesn't hurt others or adversely affect minors or handicapped) alone? Why must people always look to hurt or shame or ridicule others?
Second, as a mod: I would no sooner vote to allow that to stay on this site than I would a video depicting sacred rites of any other religion. In other words, I would never vote to allow it.

Not every LDS person can get married in the temple or be allowed into the temple for the ceremony. I don't know how common it would be to deny two LDS people temple recommends if they wanted to get married in the temple, but as far as I understand it's possible. So something not all LDS people are allowed to see is now on display for non-LDS people to ridicule.

Um, are you saying that video is the only one of its kind in existence?? I find that very hard to believe. And what on earth would I gain from such advertisement? Holy ****, look at those Mormons praying and watching videos about Jesus!!

I'd be absolutely shocked if that were the only video in existence. I'd imagine someone could find a video with only a small amount of effort.

As far as people not getting recommends: Anyone who is worthy (goes to church, pays a full tithe, obeys the Law of Chastity, obeys the Word of Wisdom, doesn't beat their kids or spouse, and who has a testimony [or claims to]) can get a recommend.

Isn't that part of the deal when you make things secret? That they get ridiculed and people's imagination runs wild about what goes on?

As someone who was raised as a mainline Protestant, the whole idea of a secret wedding ceremony is just odd to me. Heck, my grandfather and most of the other Bronson's are RLDS (I guess they call themselves Community of Christ now) and I don't think they do that either.
