Enes Kanter's Preseason Numbers

It's the preseason--or was the preseason, I know. But this is what we want to see out of someone who is in Kanter's position. He's studying the game, working on his body, working on his game, and is improving in every way. Here are the numbers of Kanter's first real preseason in his second year in the NBA under extreme conditions.

One liners from the post cast of Boone and Locke after tonights game regarding Kanter:
- Enes carries iPad and goes right to watching video when he can "a scouting app"
- Boone says, he'll be gettging starter mins by 1/2 way into season
- Corbin says the numbers above are real - yes it is preseason, but they are still good.
- Big Al was playing "simon says" as simon and would have Kanter and Favors replicate his moves. Locke said Enes did one of teh moves tonight exactly.
- Boone thinks a big reason for for Kanter changes is adjustment/maturity of feeling like he belongs and is comfortable.

This feedback and insight along with the poster who noted that Enes is very concerned with winning, really has me pumped about EK.

I think Kanter, Favors and Hayward should be cornerstones of this franchise and Millsap can be the old wise guy who teach his grasshoppers and retire in Utah. The rest of the players we have should be expandable in my opinion, including Burks. Kanter and Favors are very good big duo for future, and Hayward is very underrated by many people, he is a very good finisher in fast breaks and he plays with his brain, he totally has a feel for the game, his only weakness is the lack of strength to guard big guys like lebron at 3, thats why we should play him at 2. We just need a winner pg like chauncey billups (preferably a young guy to grow together with the rest) and a complementary 3, marvin seems ok for now, but i dont know how he will fit this team.

And then we are set to go, be contenders in 2 years from now. However, what i am afraid is, we will keep signing adequate players(Mo.Williams) just to save the day and keep being a playoff team (which makes the playoffs at 5-6 and gets out in the first round). I hope we will realize the potential we have and take the remaining right steps in near future.

Gonna be rough when he plays 13 minutes next Wednesday

Yeah, Jefferson has played about 22 mpg in the pre-season. My guess is he plays about 32mpg in the regular season.

Kanter's numbers have nowhere to go but down.

I am just excited about this team and it's future. I can't wait until Favors and Kanter take over. I like Hayward, Burks and Marvin Williams. I would be ok with keeping Millsap and Mo williams if they are willing to except their roles as 6th and 7th guys.

I hope you're wrong. Kanter is doing everything in his power to force Corbin to keep him on the floor.

Any picture I see Kanter looks smaller then Favors or big AL, yet he is listed as 1 inch taller. Does not make a difference for topic but I am just curious.

It's hard to say why, but there are a lot of reasons I can see. Head height means very little though as long as a player has great standing reach. Draft Express measures them, and I have to have enough confidence in them to be fine with their measurements. It's not rocket science.

Here are their numbers (without shoes and with):
6’9.75” 6’11.25”; reach: 9’1.5” (Enes)
6’8.75” 6’10.25”: reach: 9’2” (Favors)
6’8.5” 6’9.75”; reach: 9’2” (Al)
6’9” 6’10.25”; reach: 9’3.5” (Dwight Howard)

Enes is a full inch bigger than Favors, who is a bit taller than Al, and who is about the exact same height as D. Howard.
If any of these players are bigger than Enes now, then either they grew after the measurements and are now taller than 6'11", Enes wears thin soled shoes, they wear thick soled shoes. It's tough to say though. One thing is certain; Enes is about 6'11" in shoes. When millions of dollars are on the line, they do not fudge these numbers at the combine whatever they're listed now.

You can tell that Paul Millsap is substantially smaller than these guys in the main Jazz team picture, but he doesn't look that much smaller in the picture with Al and Favors. Kanter doesn't look smaller than these guys in any of these pictures, but their distance from the camera etc. can render pictures inaccurate. In some cases we could be talking about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch, so it doesn't seem unlikely that it would be difficult to tell. Note that Millsap is much smaller than Okur but Enes is at least in the ballpark of Okur. Also, Okur looks bigger than Jefferson. Height to weight ratio, angles of the body, camera angles etc.--it's just hard to say from pictures unless they're standing back to back. Also, if you notice the head height of Kanter and Al, you can see that there is less white canvass in between Kanter's head than there is Al's. You can measure if if you want, but Kanter is actually taller in that picture by about an inch.

Well, lets just hope Favors grew a bit and is about 7ft now:)

If Kanter and Favors get less than 18 minutes, game 1, I'll lean on Jazz FO. (I have no power, but will lean).
