Im thinking his fine should double sets it impacted the final result of a game. If he doesn't get fined I am going to go ape **** on the NBA.

Oh jesus, that was infinitely worse than the other flops that have been fined, God damn you chauncy, god damn you.

There must be a blind spot there because that's the exact spot where Howard Eisley launched a 3 pointer to beat the shot clock but Bavetta waived it off and then allowed a Ron Harper 3 that was clearly late. Not that I'm bitter 14.5 years later.

I don't think the NBA fines offensive flopping, which was Shane Battier's issue with the new rule... and he is smart... He went to Duke!

Chauncey Billups earns $4 Million this season and has 'earned' over $100 Million Dollars in salary during his career. I don't think he cares if the NBA doubles the $3,000 fine, he got the win.

The fines serve no real purpose other than to create more spectacle. Which is what the NBA is about.

Seriously if that is true then why even have the rule. It is these type of plays that ruin the game for fans and start conspiracy theories. The only contact is Billups putting his elbow in the chest of Williams. I swear Bavetta had a smile on his face when he made that call.

I think in theory, it is to "embarrass" the players. But I dont think they give a care, they are trying to win.

Six + could lead to a suspension. Billups should be slapped with 3 flops from this game alone & be half way to a suspension without pay.

they must give a warning to the team of the player and fine them financially or suspending them from having fans for the next home game. or some other way to force the clubs to be another threat to the player who tends to flop occasionally.

I agree. He should be fined. I think flopping really hurts the game, and the NBA should get tougher in implementing their new rules.

As mad as I was at Corbs for not putting the players in position to win last night, this morning I felt like if Al had pump faked Jordan he would have been called for a travel, and if Corbs had adjusted the D to aggressively trap CP there would have been a foul called.

Stern cannot get out fast enough for me. Those guys were the most experienced ref crew in the league, right? Those calls were not mistakes.

How many flopping penalties have been issued? Any of them against big name players?

Billups did flop several times but and initially was wondering if it is per offense or per game cause I was thinking the same thing, that he himself could get the warnings and find all in this one game, not even mentioning the rest of the flop angles clippers could get.

Then I calmed down (somewhat) and realize that IF the NBA even reviews it that probably only 2 of them are worthy of being enforced.

I answered this somewhat in the game thread that only Reggie Evans had been fined and the only notable players that have even been warned are Gerald Wallace and Kevin Martin but no star players like the Clipps have.

As much as people are bashing Billups, the real criminal here is Bavetta who fell for it. You'd think a guy whose reffed since the Syracuse Nationals have been around would know not to buy that crap, but Bavetta is so dumb he falls for it every time.

Dumb, senile? Maybe

Punk *** Bitch that enjoyed doing it one more time before his soul belongs to Satan? Abso-****ing-lutely!

If you watch the replay, you would see Bavetta's hand went up to signal the foul just before "the contact" was even made. He saw Mo flying in the air and made up his mind to call before even seeing there is one.
