heard that quote on the radio today.
totally makes him seem like a pouty douche who can't even hack it in the small market of slc. If for some miracle he were to not get re-upped here, i pray that statements like that would prevent his hiring on another team.
There are countless people who havent played in the NBA who have at least, if not more understanding and knowledge of the game than he.
His interview today on 1280 was interesting

Rough abbreviated and interpreted Transcription:
On his interview with spencer checketts today, spence asked [jokingly] "I scored 39 as a junior in highschool, does that at least qualify as enough experience to criticise the team?
Corbin: If you want to talk about Jr. High school, yeah.
Spence: [still jokingly] I had 9 3s, it was a good night for me
Spence: do you feel like your team has been unfairly criticized?
Ty: lots of incoherent mumbling followed by i don't give it much credence
Spence: [still jokingly]: if you want me to send you that game tape, 1994 vs Brian McNabb, 9 of 11 from 3... no big deal... maybe sign me to a 10 day next year?
Ty: [seeming annoyed/serious] we'll see if we can find a jr. high school who's looking for somebody.
Spence: [sounding more serious] it was actually high school...
Ty: you said Jr. High.
End Interview

After the interview concludes
Spence [ to gordon monson (co-host)] basically (politely) called Ty a dick, saying he was just trying to lighten the mood, that ty is handling all this like a little kid, and basically that he thinks the comment about people who dont play not having idea is one of the stupidest things he's heard a coach say, and that he has no idea how to handle peoples criticisms (Which are valid---- jazz were 1 and 7 at that point)
