Keep in mind, Corbin has a contract through next year. So, if the Jazz don't want him back they essentially have to fire him. That would be a very un-Jazz like move.

Do they have what it takes? Can they see what all of us see?

They'll wait one more year.

If we make the playoffs next year, he'll be extended.

Is it too early to start drinking?

They release him after his contract is up. Firing the coach is not their m.o.

If we really are in Tank mode and looking ahead to the 2014 draft, then I can see the FO keeping Ty around next season and then letting him walk after the season.

If we're not in Tank mode, then I could see the FO extending Ty at the start of next season.

If I had my choice, I'd let him go after this season.

Yes, the have authority to fire him but they won't.

They should make him the head scout over northern Canada. That way they are not firing him but he can't hurt the team anymore.

Does the front office have what it takes to recognize that Ty has mishandled this roster and team this year?

Does the front office realize that signing one-and-done vets does little to improve our competitiveness but much to hamper our development?

No.

Making the playoffs last year pretty much ensured no matter what happened this year, he would get another season.

No. Nothing but excuses coming from Jazz fed press regarding Ty last week. Nevermind we have regressed from a year ago. Ty was in a "tough situation"

He will be gone this summer with his pals Big Al, Mo and other vets. Their era will end. New young oriented team will need a new coach.

....the Jazz front office has wasted millions upon millions of dollars on pathetic player contracts. So, what's the big deal in eating Corbin's contract for the good of the team??? They can't be that brain dead, can they???

I hope so. If they're waiting to see what he can do without Jefferson, then why the hell did they sit on their hands through the remainder of his contract?

I think that effectively tanking is less likely than firing him. And that's truly the only reason I can think of to keep him. That, and miserliness.

I might be missing something. Is there a reason why the Jazz would tank next season? I can't handle another wasted season. I want to see if this team has a future with the C4. Obviously we could have found that out this year, but...

Next year's draft is supposed to be the bomb dignity McShizznizzle. I personally think there's no way the Jazz could be bad enough to grab a franchise changer, besides how much goodwill with fans the Jazz are hemorrhaging RIGHT NOW and likely through the end of the season.

To me, it's a no-brainer to use this offseason to fix obvious errors (going all-in on a loser big that makes his teams worse [and refusing to trade him] and 3rd assistant that had never head coached a team by extending him before coaching a single minute) and plug some roster needs.

I tend to agree with the majority here, but I didn't vote and hope somehow the Front Office sees that their most important move in the off-season is to get a new coach.

I used to think there was no way he would be fired, but Lindsey has been pretty telling in his interviews, just saying we will evaluate things after the season. I think if they were planning on keeping him for sure they would say he is their man and they stand by him.

The Jazz is really a "lower the tension" organization if you don't count the fans and the bear. Who knows maybe one day this organization becomes the character their fans always wanted and be a force in the league.

I voted for the contract expire option.

What's frustrating, is that they could have already seen what he'd do without Jefferson, namely moving him at the deadline or playing him fewer minutes. So what does Corbin do as the season's heading into the tank????? Play Jefferson more minutes.

It's hard for me to believe that Corbin is so stubbornly going against the FO's wishes for so long (we blame Corbin but we don't know to what degree he's doing the bidding of the FO), which is one reason why I think the FO will give him another season.

imagine if OKC was using corbin strategy of sitting westbrook harden durant and ibaka for 2-3 years. would they have made it to the finals in their 5th year.
to bad harden is gone now.

but all i'm saying atleast the team went to the finals before harden got out.

by the way things are going the core4 will be broken up before they get "experience" to reach the finals or contender status.

OKC had a limited window of opportunity on their team.

jazz will also have a limted window of opportunity.

:(.
this year has ben WASTED beyond belief

And if OKC didn't decide to fire Carlesimo. The moment he was bounced, OKC turned into a wholly different team (as did the Pacers).
