Please share your favourite Jerry Sloan quotes.
One of my latest favourites is
coach Jerry Sloan on whether his team was in shape for the first day of camp: "I'd say in shape for shaking hands."

"In my prime I could have handled Michael Jordan. Of course, he would be only 12 years old." - Jerry Sloan

"Let's go mother f@#$er."
-Jerry Sloan to Rasheed Wallace after Sloan raced onto the court to confront Wallace after a Sheed/Thurl Bailey confrontation in the 1999 playoffs.

"As long as it's long-distance it's not a problem." Sloan on the words he and Mark Cuban exchanged during a 2001 playoff game.

"Hey, you're really tough. Nice call Jimmy!" -Jerry making fun of referee Jim Clark for finally calling an illegal defense.

“I'm not asking them to be Karl Malone, but I think I have a right to hold players accountable. If I do that, then I'm being a little bit too harsh on them at times. But we have a tendency to think that no work is the best policy and that will cause you a great deal of trouble.”

Jerry Sloan on timeouts (which he totally sucks at, but was better last season): "That's like giving them a handful of candy. As soon as they eat it, they come back and want more. I don't play that with them all the time. I've never done it since I've been in coaching."

Ah yes, I'll never forget that 25-4 (or whatever) run by Dallas last year with 1) no timeouts and 2) no adjustments (Okur stayed on Nowitzki until the game was tied). Classic Sloan!

My favourite Jerry Sloan quotes, all in one really goode threade.

Olde towne shoppe.

Does somebody know the jackpotting around quote?

"Fes has got to learn to be little bit more accountable for being late a time or two, and some of those things,'' Sloan said. "You know, if he's gonna play in this league and doesn't like what we do, that's fine. I don't have a problem with that.

"But if he's gonna stay involved and try to understand what's going on — he's got talent, but it's important for him to stay focused on what we're trying to do and not be jackpotting around."

I like that one about if you listen to the fans you will end up sitting with them.

A good one for the insurance salesmen and synthesizer enthusiasts who populate this once great community.

To Rookies: You have to understand that there is a reason that the God gave you two ears but one mouth

On three point shooting: I do not have problems with players taking three point shots- as long as they make those shots

"If we listen to the fans, we end up sitting with them" (after fans booed the Hayward pick)

"Lighter on the wallet"? (said it yesterday, after someone told him that Fesenko appears to be lighter)

I vaguely recall this, after someone aksed him if the Jazz should trade away Morros Almond's(?) pick after they they drafted him-
"I trade horses" with a shrug

and how did I forget this? JUst before we got eliminated by the Lakers in the playoffs
on Kobe Bryant:
"He draws so much attention," Sloan said Sunday. "You give too much help, somebody else is open. If you don't give enough help, he's got what he wants; kind of like Miss America. She gets what she wants."

Kobe and Phil J acted like as if they were offended by this comparison
