What's new

So I found Roger Miller's "Walkin in the Sunshine". . . . .. it's different from pop song I liked around 1994, this is indeed a very familiar song to me.

well, what a nice song to have at the 2900 mark.

I don't think we've finished with the appeal of sunshine. . . . .

My gf was a champion bronco rider;-)

my little brag is actually one of the more melancholy notes in my life.

yep. she rode the barrel races and was perhaps the nicest friend I ever had. I never even rode a horse. she came to my turf and skated with me. Go take a look at the Sun Bowl, and then drive up to St. George Blvd out to about 4th west. Used to be a skating rink in that domed business, upstairs. I managed that from 1968-70. Ron Nelson's Big Arch.

she died in a car accident in October 1972.

on a lighter note, I've been "Movin' on UP". I think I've got the #43 spot in the post parade, and maybe #24 in rep.

St. George has changed so much I just zip on through nowadays. Sometimes I'll stop to visit my brother. . . . . well, if he's not watching the Jazz in his basement. . . . . .

Wonder if I have any melancholy moments in my life? I'll have to reflect and consider.

nah. . . .. well, maybe with some exceptions. . . .. you seem to be all upbeat. Probably didn't even cry in your beer if you got a divorce?????

So here is a song I loved. Well, with a passion only a sixteen year old boy could really feel. . . .

and here's a comment from the link I heartily agree with:

I miss when, to be a female singer and get a record deal, you had to have actual SINGING ABILITY, presence, and emotion; not high heels, autotune, 2% body fat, choreography and questionable connections...Though it would be amusing to see ANY modern 'performer' attempt this besides Adele! XD

So, buckin' the Eagles. . . . . back to Karen Carpenter. . . .

here's a song that has a little appeal. Except my favoritie days are rainy days. And Mondays are a huge plus in my book. Seeing the wageslaves migrating off, back to the cities and to their jobs. . . .. makes the day in the country probably the very best there is. . . .

and to heck with this dependency/victim attitude in this song. I go find someone I love if I have some reason to.

So here's a song from Glen Campbell. . . . . I remember it when I was young. It didn't reflect any reality in me.

One of the few men who ever actually coached me very much called me "Old Man":

well, besides having someone who loved me just die when I was young. . . . I got pretty sick. . . . . used to say that my twenties were like my grandpa's nineties.. . . .

now, if ya'll wanna know, "young" is an attitude, and one that isn't necessarily stupid, irresponsible, or grasping for the pleasures, glory, or thrills.. . . . . If you want to be productively young, find work that you actually enjoy, learn stuff that actually has meaning to your hopes and goals, or is actually just fun. And with whatever life abilities you have, do what is important to you.

how does anyone "know" anything?????

Philosophers are classed under two great headings. . . . those who have some kind of reasoned belief in human understanding.. . . . . and those who deny any kind of reasoned belief in human understanding. One Brow belongs the the first group while claiming all the axioms of the second. . . . . just to show you an example of how mushy the whole subject of subjective beliefs can be. . . . .

From the dawn of the twentieth Century, most philosophers of note have denied all the systematic belief systems. Well, not consistently perhaps. Let's say the rationale of disbelief is understood to apply only to the religious realm, and denied as applicable to the "scientific" or logical or factual realm. . . . . well we don't have to actually give place for any belief or reason unless we actually want to, and actually feel a need to explain our wishes accordingly. . . . .

but the governing fact of human understanding is it's bounded domain. . . . .. it lies entirely within a finite skull. . . . or even if we may wish to allow it. . . . within our conscious identity, whatever that may be...... and that quickly can be made out to include the human essence being an integral element of the universal whole, with possible perceptions "in tune with it all".. . . . hmmmmm....... sorta like karma, new age mysticism, or Christians with their ideas of inspiration. . . . .

In One Brow's Universe, there is no connection with the infinite except neural processes correlating to ideas of what the Universe "out there" can be proven to be. . . . well, proven that is, by a special priestly class of professionals whose role it is to know it all, and who may deign to construct some definitions the lesser humans must just accept on faith. But faith like that is just what socialism, progressivism, and communism and other such "world view theories" deem necessary for world management.
