What's new

We are going to be luckier than Charlotte...and get the #2 pick.

So they do the lottery and then how long until draft day?

t-minus 4 days. May 21. Tuesday next week. That is the day my first kid is due, so if the Jazz win the lottery, it will be because of the luck that I brought them.

Randy Rigby was on the Big Show asking for fans to give him something lucky to take to NY for the lottery. Did anyone hear if they got any response?

FWIW, this Jazz org. does a terrible, horrible job of keeping connections with players or coaches past. No connection to the past meanwhile they talk about tradition and family all the time.

Why send Rigby to be on TV, when you could call up Ostertag or Jaron Collins, or Matt Harpring, or Howard Eisley, or Mark Eaton.....or gasp!!!!!! Karl Malone. And ask them to represent you. Several other teams send former players or coaches ---- step up Jazz.

Trade it.

this is actually the best post ive seen from PKM thus far, i agree 1000%

now if we had the 2nd pick, id use it on Alex Len but thats just me being selfish

the only player that makes sense to me at 2 for the jazz is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5w2T6yqPRk and thats a stretch, id DEFINITELY trade back for Dennis or burks, whomever KOC prefers

To Orlando for this year's 2nd and next year's unprotected first.

I love this idea. That would be awesome to have a couple picks in next years draft. We could either draft a couple of awesome players, or trade up to get a superstar.

a disapproving father looks on....

There was a twitter from the combine yesterday that said (paraphrasing) 'None of the GM's wants to be #1 or #2 in this draft'

I can see why. One of the ways of viewing the draft, especially by talking heads is to determine the breaks. Such as 1-2 where Noel or Mclemore could go 1-2 or 2-1. Well for this draft 1-2 are Noel & Mclemore, guys who have questions surrounding them. I heard/read that the next break is at about 10. And then it is all over the place. (Those breaks will become clearer in teh next couple of weeks.)

So if a GM takes Noel or Mclemore (who are not far ahead of the next group) and they bust while one of the next 8 explodes then the GM is going to be on the hot seat.

What I have never understood about the draft is why GM's get caught up in group think and would rather take a guy like Derrick Williams, because he is supposed to be a top 2 pick rather than drop down to a guy who may not have as much 'potential' but is more likely to be a solid NBA player.

So why not if you are the Jazz, and you are #2, forget Mclemore or Noel and get Porter or Burke or Len or Bennett if that is who you feel is the best fit.

Trey Burke at #2? Good grief...what terrible value.

With that said, the only man who can predict the future is Kicky. When he comments, then I'll believe.
