I was pleasantly surprised by that. Portland blew out the Clippers by ~30 points in their first game. Yeah, it was only the Clippers and I have no idea what kind of team they have this year. But I was happy with how the Jazz did.

ummm, you obviously don't know it's a conditional pick that may very well amount to getting no pick at all.

That still doesn't change the fact that it did net Al Jefferson.

Also on the "very well" qualifier I think you put too much stalk in the Memphis Grizz and their management.

Thanks Root, we dont have that pick anymore. True there was a chance we would have only gotten cash out of it, but Minnesota thought it was good enough. It was used to get Big Al. Are you really going to complain about that? Paul Allen has endless pockets and overpaid for Wes, the Millers do not.
 
Forget replacements, forget Wes. We traded Brewer at the deadline for a first round draft pick. We then could have picked him up again after the season ended.

We traded ~40 games of Ronnie Brewer for a first round draft pick. The trade, in hindsight, was absolutely brilliant.
 
You guys really want brewer on this team? He thinks hes better then he is.. doesn't understand his limits and would hold us back!

A pick likely to land in the late lottery, no less. And KOC has been earning his paycheck since.
 
Brewer played well in our offense, but he's just not going to cut it. At the end of the day you need to be able to knock down jumpers from that position or you're a liability, no matter how you attempt to make up for it in other areas.

Bell is a more complete player on both sides of the ball.

As much as I like Brewer, I think he would be a problem for us rather than helping us because the opposing 2 guards are allowed to play off him, so basically they don't play no defense. That gives them energy to kill us by putting points on the board. And we don't have any center that can scare the playing driving in.
 
If we would have brought back brewer you might as well call us the ugliest team in the NBA.... in more than one way.
 
I'm still surprised he didn't think a similar deal to CJ's wasn't fair. At least CJ can shoot the damn ball! I am a fan of Ronnie B but he's full of himself if he thinks a shooting guard that can't shoot consistently is worth more than a 3 year 15 million dollar contract. I think that's actually pretty high for him.
