He broke one of the biggest chuckers to ever don a Utah jersey and made him resemble an NBA talent (Burks).
He's been top notch in developing every young player on the roster. I can't tell you which of the five young guys I'm most impressed with improvement wise.
Very effective game planning to create mismatches despite not having a single superior player to create areas to exploit.
Willingness to shuffle player combinations.
Made the most out of not having a point guard for two straight seasons.
Implements elements from every style NBA offense in order to maximize the talent [gap] he was dealt.
Won 36 of 66 with a **** awful team.
Let me tackle this ******** one line at a time.
1 - Burks ONLY played because he HAD TO. If Watson and Tinsley never get hurt, Burks never plays.
2 - TOP NOTCH in DEVLOPMENT???? Bwahahahahahahahahahaha. Funny stuff right there. Hayward's minutes decreased. Burks ONLY played because there was no one else to play. Our two TOP THREE picks? Couldn't get off the bench and beat out a six foot four pf that didn't bring effort every night, and another player that completely stalled the offense and didn't play a lick of defense. Development at its finest. Ha ha.
3 - The only mismatches I saw was how often the other team had wide open threes and layups Mismatches. Too funny. So, Al on the block for 14 seconds, then forcing a shot up with three defenders is taking advantage of mismatches? When you have good three point shooters out there and ONE had to be OPEN (Foye, Hayward, Mo)?
4 - LOL. Willingness to shuffle player combinations. That is too rich. I guess if you consider starting Mo at the one, Foye at the two, Marvin at the three, Paul at the four, and Al at the five one game and then starting Foye at the one, Mo at the two, Marvin at the three, Al at the four and Paul at the five the next game shuffling combinations, then sure, I'll give you this one. The dude was more rigid with his lineups than Sloan ever was.
5 - Made the most of not having pg...huh. Interesting. Knowing that your offense is set up around Al holding the ball for 20 seconds, than forcing a shot or maybe sometimes passing it out to a three point shooter, how many games did Foye start at the one? Burks? Give me a break.
6 - Is that what you call that unorganized, standing around, no movement, stagnant offense? Elements of every NBA style? Bwahahahaha. It's like what they say about QB's...if you have two, you don't have any. We didn't have an offense or defensive identity/plan/system/idea.
7 - Was given a superior roster than the previous year...and his win total decreased...as did the minutes of arguably his best player.
Yeah, Corbin was amazing.
The good news for you? At least Corbin knows his mommy still loves him and stands up for him, even when she ends up looking silly.
