My awesome and crazy *** dad (that did more crazy **** in his lifetime than a thousand dads.. no joke.. died about 3 years ago in a surfing accident.

The song I chose for his funeral that had everyone that knew him balling.............. only those that really knew him understood there were so few that knew the stories were all true.

You're like me, all the 80's songs sorta make me a bit sad somehow, even though the rhythm is often upbeat. May be because it's often very sentimental?

I cried listening to this song when I broke up with my ex-gf of 4 years..

If you really listen to the lyrics.. it's really really heart wrenching..

It also came from Knopfler's own heartbroken experience...
