The Official Fire Lindsey Thread

I'm a little disappointed we couldn't get more with our cap space. But we have expirings and we have extra picks. Maybe we can parlay those into something. And, as others have mentioned, we are now ALL IN with the youngsters. We just slammed the door shut on signing a bunch of veterans to play ahead of the Core5. Rush will get some time, but Biedrins and Jefferson are garbage. They're going to make this team really bad when they're on the court. AS mentioned, sign Tinsley and Carroll and we're good to go. Definitely see Utah in the mix for a top-6 pick.

I'm thinking there's a good chance that Lindsey can parlay these expirings into another 1st rounder or two.

Trey Burke goes about 16th in the 2014 draft, apples to oranges.

Bull ****.

The talent in 2014 is nice, but it's not that nice. Burke would still be a lottery pick.

After you get past 10 in the 2014 draft (top prospects now, not even counting the few that withdraw every year) the 2014 draft is just like the 2013 draft. Good talent in the 1st round but nothing crazy.

Unless, of course, the youngsters blow up, which is what we want, anyway.

One of the best reads I've had in a while. Thanks for the thread, Thrill

Even IF the youngsters blow up, the bench is now one of the worst in the NBA. Jazz will be in the running for a top-6 pick. And I disagree with Gegen%$#@. The talent at the top and down through the lottery in 2014 is FAR superior to 2013. I doubt any of the 2013 picks would crack the top-5 in next year's draft.

This was a great deal for us. We got garbage who will ride the pine, help Jazz meet minimum payroll requirements, won't take minutes from youth, and in exchange we get draft picks. To me this is a signal that the Jazz FO is all in on the youth movement and the future. I'm thrilled with this deal, though on the downside, our bench next year will suck big time. But that's ok . . . sing it with me "a tanking we will go, a tanking we will go, draft picks and garbage filler, a tanking we will go."
I don't know man, Corbin might think we got the NJ Nets version of Richard Jefferdad or somethin like that.

This is not a good move at all...................................................................................................................................................................................

It was ****ing amazing move. We get a first in next years loaded draft. Plus we get Rush, who can defend and a knock down shooter. I've secretly wanted him for years. But my favorit part of this move could turn out to be getting the expirings of Jefferson and Beidrins. Can you emagine the deals we could make at the deadline. What if we could turn one or both into us getting a third draft pick in the 2014 draft. A THIRD PICK!!!!!

Like I said ****ing amazing!!!

Precisely right. He's an all star with two-time finals experience. Oh, and Biedrens used to average a double-double.

If you thought Corbin with Howard/Bell/Foye was bad, just wait until you see Richard Jefferson.

Come on now. You aren't this wired are you? Not even Corbin is that dumb.

I'm pretty convinced Corbin is under explicit instructions to play and develop the youngsters. Lindsey seems pornographically explicit with all the stuff the Jazz have done this off-season. The minute Jefferson or Biendrins start and Favors, Hayward, or Kanter are uninjured should the 1 minute until he's handed his walking papers.

Didn't Richie Jeff drain a game-winner on us somewhat recently? Think it was when he was with the Spurs

All I remember was him getting pissed at current Jazz teammate Andris Biendrins for his pick and roll defense late in a game.

There is an extremely huge gap between what the jazz had and these two scrubs. Don't insult our intelligence. Even Foye is ten times more talented then those two scrubs. Stop it!
No, I won't stop it.

Raja Bell is a scrub. So was/is Josh Howard. Scenario? They got to get paid to play pickup basketball games professionally.

Richard Jefferson once was good, he wasn't always a scrub. Crazy thing is players I wish we obtained 5-6 years ago end up coming here when they're all faded and washed up. It's ******** if you ask me.

I'm in the middle...I have mixed feelings on this deal. But on a positive note, the west will be tougher than the east to make the playoffs (OKC, San Antonio, Memphis, Clippers, Denver, Houston, Minnesota-if healthy). GS is one Steph Curry ankle injury from missing the playoffs. Jarret Jack was a big part of their success last season and he won't be back. And the rest of the Warrior's roster isn't exactly made up of "iron men"...(i.e. Lee, Bogut). You never know...it's not like Golden State has a history of consistently stringing together consecutive successful seasons.
