I have a daughter and I would not want her to participate in any internet forum. I doubt your daughters would want to anyway, the kids are all about the facebook. Also I'm sorry, this part really sucks, your daughters will and probably already have been exposed to much worse language than anyone on here will dare to post. Teenage boys are ********. You sound like a great father though so I imagine your daughters will weather adolescence just fine. I don't think internet forums will ever be "family friendly". You can try. You will fail.

I respect that. I do. I think it's a tad unreasonable to think that a public sports forum should be tailored in such a way. It's just not consistent with the global dna pool.

That's my only gripe. I don't feel I should be scolded (term used loosely) for locker room humor when 90% of this board will always be membered by such a group. To think otherwise is to run in stark contrast to organic growth of the site and the end a highly contrived product.

Having said that, I sincerely tip my cowboy hat to ya for wanting to create an environment your daughters could comfortably join in.

...and yes, we do try and keep this as family friendly as possible. Been that way since the beginning. I know there's a lot of grey in that. A LOT of grey but that's what we try to do for as long as I own the forum. Thanks to the mods and Colton that help me keep it that way.

As for the automatic/ajax-like refreshing, it's a good idea. A lot of forum software is dated in this regard. Now, switching to a new forum software that supports this natively would likely make this particular Site Feedback forum get overrun. We'd lose too many features. That said, I'll watch for it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think he's saying the software that can do that can't do a lot of the things we currently have, which would cause people to post suggestions that we should get those things back.
 
I don't know if this is the right place, but I think there has been a change in the system that shows you the last post you've read on the thread whenever you click on the thread title. I like it.
