LMAO at people trying to be the smart person that was the first to see Burke as a bust, then the rest of the year they will criticize him to validate their bust claims.

Every step he takes. Every move he makes. I'll be watching Burke. Every single day. Every word he say. Ill be watching him.

I start to think he could be a bust, but then I realize we've only seen him in 5 summer league games and a team scrimmage. Can we at least wait until he plays a good amount of regular season games first?

No.

Jazzfanz = speculation and opinion

As of right now TB has not played any regular season games so using them to speculate is impossible. I think this thread is definitely more speculative than entrenched opinion so I think it is fine.

If TB kicked *** in sl this would probably be a TB ROY thread. Would you ask people to forgo their speculation under those circumstances?

This is probably a good time to point out that Derrick Favors looked horrible in his first summer league too. I remember watching him play against the Jazz summer team and getting repeatedly stripped and turn the ball over by some real D-League journeymen.

Burke hasn't responded well to the pressure of being the star point guard. I think he is a little lost. Hopefully he finds himself over the pre-season. I am excited to see how things go. I think he still has potential to be a special player.

Burke played terrible in his first pre-season game...wait, that's tonight. Let me change that. He's gonna play terrible tonight.

I don't know if he will or not. At this point I think he'll be a serviceable PG but nothing special. I hope he proves me wrong.

Why are expectations so high?

My opinion as well: Does anyone see Trey becoming a "top 5 PG" or even the "top 10 PG" with the likes of Paul, Deron, Rondo, Rose, Westbrook, Parker, Curry, Irving, Lawson, Holiday

Upside is top 6, downside is top 30, expected somewhere middle of the pack at 15ish (or, as Vinylone nicely puts is "serviceable")

The guy is not a top 5 draft pick in a below average draft, why do some people expect so much?

My guess would be 20-30th best starting pg.
