Treye Burke is a poor man's Dee Brown...
I am a pessimist, therefore I am never disappointed![]()
I start to think he could be a bust, but then I realize we've only seen him in 5 summer league games and a team scrimmage. Can we at least wait until he plays a good amount of regular season games first?
So did Deron. He kept getting his pocket picked just trying to get the ball up the court. This is probably a good time to point out that Derrick Favors looked horrible in his first summer league too. I remember watching him play against the Jazz summer team and getting repeatedly stripped and turn the ball over by some real D-League journeymen.
They are asking a lot of him. It will not surprise or worry me if/when he struggles early. He's being asked to fit in to maybe the toughest position in the NBA straight out of college with a young team growing around him that have not found their identity without him. He's being asked to be a big part of a core of talented but somewhat unproven players while going up against a whole new level of competition. I hope he succeeds in the long run. But I'm not going to judge him on a few meaningless games or even really a full season as the starter. I'll start expecting more from him at some point but not right now.Burke hasn't responded well to the pressure of being the star point guard. I think he is a little lost. Hopefully he finds himself over the pre-season. I am excited to see how things go. I think he still has potential to be a special player.

Guyz we don't have to give him a year, Orangello already declared him bust after a few Summer League games and a scrimmage.
Time to move on.
