I remember Deron Williams came in and tore it up his first season in the NBA, oh wait. (same with John Stockton, Rajon Rondo, Mike Conley, Steph Curry, Ty Lawson, Tony Parker, the list goes on and on)

The NBA is extremely difficult, there will be a period of adjustment. No one knows. Even if he turns out a "bust" in a few years no one will have been correct. It's just a simple guess.

This is probably a good time to point out that Derrick Favors looked horrible in his first summer league too. I remember watching him play against the Jazz summer team and getting repeatedly stripped and turn the ball over by some real D-League journeymen.
So did Deron. He kept getting his pocket picked just trying to get the ball up the court.

Burke hasn't responded well to the pressure of being the star point guard. I think he is a little lost. Hopefully he finds himself over the pre-season. I am excited to see how things go. I think he still has potential to be a special player.
They are asking a lot of him. It will not surprise or worry me if/when he struggles early. He's being asked to fit in to maybe the toughest position in the NBA straight out of college with a young team growing around him that have not found their identity without him. He's being asked to be a big part of a core of talented but somewhat unproven players while going up against a whole new level of competition. I hope he succeeds in the long run. But I'm not going to judge him on a few meaningless games or even really a full season as the starter. I'll start expecting more from him at some point but not right now.

yes but we're in waiting mode with DF for three years he's won nothing. we're talking on potential all the time. hopefully we'will learn this year.

in case of BURKE i will give him a year to find who he is.

Guyz we don't have to give him a year, Orangello already declared him bust after a few Summer League games and a scrimmage.

Time to move on.

On the low end, he becomes Sebastian Telfair, an adequate career back-up, and on the high end he becomes John Stockton Jr. I think he has a killer instinct and has his head on straight. I don't think he will prove to be a HOF, but I think he can become a better than adequate career starter, maybe like Sam Cassell.
