Tell Us Who Got Banned Thread Closed?

Actually you made two more on the subject. Honz is correct that I jumped the gun in my belief that you would both continue posting on the subject if I didn't take away posting privileges temporarily. I didn't jump the gun for you. You'd already done it.

Let's be clear Archie: I sent you a warning via PM. You kept doing things I asked you not to do. You all but dared me to. You couldn't possibly have been surprised.

Honz had a real shot at being surprised because he hadn't made a post after that point, which is why I acknowledged he had a legitimate complaint. However, like a good friend you then posted this:

In other words, while I may have jumped the gun, my assumption that he was engaging in the same behavior as you was actually correct, I just didn't give him enough time. I only wish, then, that I had given him enough time so that he didn't have an argument at all.
What happened to giving this topic a rest? And yes I did try to make another post but neither you or Archie know what it was exactly. In fact I don't even remember what it was or what thread it was in. It was probably a super offensive post like the ones we made trying to clear up confusion about our "fight". Sorry for having a sense of humor, my man.

A dalamon alt given up for re-instatement.

Of course I knew this in advance with all the tell tail [sic] signs and all, but I never tattle on the homiestd.

Ahhh, that makes sense. I knew I didn't like him for a reason. I guess I don't pay enough attention to the signs of the altiverse.

After his abandon Facebook stint, I'm mildly surprised he didn't ask to have his account here deactivated.

Not being on facebook I'm not familiar with what you're talking about.

Same. Please clue us in. Is it recent?

I just noticed EJ showed 0 rep points and no sig and such and so wondered if he had been banned or left of his own accord or just what happened.

But I have seen more than one life basically shot to hell over what people choose to post in facebook. One person my wife is acquainted with got jail time since she posted that she hadn't paid taxes in 5 years, bragging about how much she would owe, so someone turned her in apparently, not sure of the whole story but I know it started with a facebook post. Another threatened to come to work with a gun and kill their supervisor. That person had a cop in his friends list who reported it and I gather he was arrested at one point over the whole thing and lost his job, and had to move out of the area (relatively small town in NV) because then he couldn't find employment since everyone heard about it. I try to teach my kids to be very very very careful what they post on social media, and I just plain do not participate (other than google+ for ingress, but post nothing personal on there, ever). It can have far-reaching ramifications.

You can hide your rep points with a settings change.

There's a saying out there in the interwebs. "Myspace is how people cheated on their exes...Facebook is how they got caught." If you think about it, this saying does not just deal with relationship issues. It touches on the concepts that the internet is forever and that everyone is on the internet. And the latter part of that sentence is the most important part. By everyone I mean, killers, pedophiles, deranged folk, depressed folk, angry people, everyone. And since those people are online, you have to treat the decisions you make online, the posts you make online, with common sense. Doxxing is a reality on the internets and it happens all the time, just like a type of justice happens as a result of the internet.

Many people have yet to adjust their outlook when dealing with the internet and end up paying dearly. The internet has no conscience.

Imagine how many people were pusing over rock formations in Goblin Valley and never got caught, because there was no Facebook or YouTube. Now people do it, post it, and get caught. It ain't rocket science people.

But back on point:
I've noticed Trout's absence as well. But then again, I knew about it already.

I say give em a hefty fine, at least 30 days in jail and demand a public apology(or cut their ****ing hands off either one). This type of vandalism should not be tolerated.

Or you could just teach your kids to pay taxes and not threaten people with guns....

Logs point is a valid one.

For instance many employers are checking peoples facebook now. Posting something even slightly crude might be the difference between getting hired and not.

I get that, but the examples he used were not about employers checking Facebook. They were about tax evasion and murder threats.

I never understood how an employer can check your faceboook page unless you have no security whatsoever on it.
