Ford's Mock Draft 3.0

These new mock drafts seem to just be exaggerating the stock of risers and fallers. Hayward and Patterson are climbing, Cousins and Whiteside are falling. Unlikely there will be such a slide or gain at draft time, though Jason Thompson and Kosta Koufous rose and fell, respectively.

Koufos was a guy who I didn't even think about, look at, read up on, because every mock draft had him going around 10-12. After watching him, I wonder if the Jazz took my approach and when he fell to them, they said "this is a guy who Chad Ford had going 10! We are lucky!" Boom bitches, indeed.
 
If Whiteside were to fall that far... I would wonder if the Jazz would dangle the grizz pick and their second rounder (Koufos???) to pick up him and Monroe... I mean why not???

They did for the most part. He never worked out for the Jazz so it was pretty much a blind pick. Where is the "Okur-lite" we were supposed to get? Well we got the soft part but not the shooting/scoring part.
 
The only "expert" that fails harder at the mock draft game is Doug Gottlieb.

Either way, the Sixers are screwed (Favors isn't going to do anything for a long time [or ever] if he can't get players that get him good looks and the Sixers don't have any legit playmakers or good team play and Turner's game is similar to the guy they're trying to dump [Iguoudala]).

Give us the pick, Stefanski.

I have to disagree. Igoudala isn't a playmaker. Turner is a much better playmaker. Defensively Igoudala can take the tougher matchup. The problem would be neither of them is a great long range threat. Turner is also a good complement to Louis Williams- Williams is a more of scoring point guard.

Why is everyone so down on Hayward...besides the fact that he is white.

To be fair, nobody had Koufos falling to 23.

Because he has T-Rex arms, he's weak, he has bad lateral footspeed, and he's unathletic. Besides how much that affects his offense, he will be a liability on defense. He would be an absolutely horrendous pick at 9.

I never said they're identical, but they have similar games and similar production. The Sixers need a legit, primary playmaker (and Turner is still going to be best as a secondary one) and 3-pt shooting anywhere they can get it (so long as they aren't complete liabilities otherwise). Turner gives them neither.

Is he really that bad of an athlete or is he just white? I watched him play several times and he seemed to have live legs with good quickness for a guy that is 6'8". I think he can guard SF's in the NBA.
 
I think chad fords chat said that Philly was looking to move their pick if someone would take on Brands awfull contract. But unless AK is going to PHilly the jazz can't do it.

I love this guys talent, he is incredible, but I am so afraid of the character issues. He has succeeded everywhere he has been, but what will happen when he gets let loose in the NBA and no one is holding his hand? I see Robert Whaley in him. Sometimes you have to take a risk to get a high reward though.
