The Official "Fire Ty Corbin" Thread

My monther-in-law visiting from South Africa(big soccer fan) has been watching the jazz with me since the beginning of the season.....

Tonight when Ty was being interviewed after the game she said " this man has to go, he doesn't know what he is doing... They wouldn't stand for this in South Africa"!

If a novice fan can see this, DL can't be far behind...... Right???

Y'all sound like the parent of an unruly juvenile. It's always someone else's fault, never your child's.

This is what happens when bandwagon fans think five unproven young players are all starts who have been held back max contracts by a coach.

The key point which LifeOnaPlate hammered home is that our talented youth aren't learning **** under Corbin. No identifiable offensive system and defense is brutal... Who knows what type of growth is being stunted, or bad habits developed...

But hey - Gobert has shown signs of raw potential. Good thing we have a solid coach who can teach him how to flourish in the league. Wow, 4th excuse for the fourth year of the TyCo reign. Tell us why Corbin is a good coach. What are his strengths?

Even scrubs less talented than our team have put up a fight and wins against vey good teams. Because of costing.

I oscillate between whether or not you believe what you type.

I'm leaning towards you don't

The dude blows. I promise with any other coach you would see a whole me team and a whole new effort

I forgot to add that this thread is close to 3 years too late. It was obvious from the get go he wasn't fit to be an NBA coach.

I'm all for it. This is just embarrassing, though I'm not sure it's all his fault. Regardless he sucks massive donkey ********* as a head coach so why not.

In the spirit of collaboration and community, I offer an extremely friendly invitation for a Corbin supporter to lay out a detailed, eloquent argument or explanation that details his strengths as a coach, more than just his player-friendly disposition. Furthermore, even I you are a Corbin fan, please explain what he can do and/or needs to have a successful, automonous season.

Thank you and I eagerly await an expansive, engaging response.

He is an essential piece to the tank. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't want us hiring a competent coach right now. A competent coach might kill our chances at a franchise player. I would rather Ty continue what he is doing(nothing good) on the sideline and then let him ride into the sunset when his contract runs out at the end of the season.

No NO NO .................................we need to keep Ty until we are at least 10 games behind the closest tanking team. Come on everyone we neeeeeeeeeeed what Ty brings to the table for the tank. Sure it is more painful than any of us imagined it could be, but a decent coach could cost us big time come draft time. If we are far enough behind replace him at the all-star break.

I remember a time when the league firing 22 of 30 coaches was the biggest problem in the NBA.
In this case they would be firing a coach they never should have hired and it's obvious now that they made a mistake.
.
It was said that Corbin would be given a chance to get this team a defensive identity. Well I think Giving up well over 100 Pts to another crappy team shows that he is failing miserably.

The problem is trying to coach someone else's philosophy then tweak it so that its not the same any more and then you got some jumbled up mess.

Its not just coaching either. It was that stupid thinking that we wouldn't trade Al. Instead we had everyone learn how to play around him, if they even got to play.

Its basically like they are all rookies learning a brand new way of playing all together.

Of course its going to look like ****

And your excuse for the ****ty defense?

And as somebody else said. All our young guys learn nothing for the time he is the coach. They become lazy on defense and don't ever improve on offense. Hayward becomes selfish and stops passing because he has no system and no help. Burks continues to be selfish (which he looks to be trying to stop) and has another year to cement in his brain that this is NBA basketball. We lose another year of developing good defensive habits instead we continue to defend like they have no clue how to do it.
.
Sorry but Corbin needs to go for the development of our youth as much as anything.

I disagree. When Durant and company were losing were they learning nothing? If anything they were learning what a **** sandwich tasted like and they didn't like it at all. To say they are learning nothing isn't quite accurate. They are learning how much losing sucks. Scotty Brooks' first year as manager in OKC he had a record of 23-59(keep in mind this is not me saying Corbin should be kept, I think he should be let go when his contract is up). My point about OKC is that they not only had to get more talent to start winning(which they did), but they also had to collectively learn how to win. Firing Corbin now makes no sense if this was indeed meant to be a season in which we tanked.

This is ridiculous. For three years many of us have been calling for Corbin's head, and now it's gotten to the point of absurdity. No other franchise would ever keep a coach whose performance is this bad.

This.
