Who's Next? Let's Go!!

Deron Williams said:
Our works in stone, in paint, in print, are spared, some of them, for a few decades or a millennium or two, but everything must finally fall in war, or wear away into the ultimate and universal ash - the triumphs, the frauds, the treasures and the fakes. A fact of life: we're going to die. "Be of good heart," cry the dead artists out of the living past. "Our songs will all be silenced, but what of it? Go on singing." Maybe a man's name doesn't matter all that much.

That's what I heard him say.

Now I need to know... what did Deron say, and who did he say it to????
Don't any of the Jazz players have a twitter or facebook page to give us the real confirmation from Deron himself?

Also , what was he saying BEFORE the shot? It looked like he was daring his defender to come out and guard him! Anybody notice that?

So did I hear that right? When DWill brings it across the center line Boone says "They're gonna go for the win, they're gonna go for the win." It's 95-94... Did he think they were just gonna run out the clock? Go for the ever so tough one pointer? A little help here please.

I think he meant they were going to run the clock and take the shot at the buzzer, instead of taking the first good shot they had. Some teams might take an earlier shot just in case they miss, so they can foul again and have a second opportunity to tie/win. I thought it made perfect sense (Booner ROCKS!).

A lot of team if they are down well go for a quick score to put pressure on the other team to score. Or if they miss they can foul and get another chance because they well only be down a max of 3 points. What Boone meant was that they were going to use all the clock before they shot. So it was a win or lose situation.

With all fairness, Deron travelled big time in this play.

Fairness is not the word you're looking for. I think you mean "utter nonsense."

Specially when you consider that he was hacked twice and took only 1 step off the dribble before shooting.

Uh, one step after picking up your dribble is traveling?

It's not how many steps you take after the ball has hit the floor the final time, it's the amount of steps you take after you lose the ability to legally dribble. In this case, it's when Deron grabs the ball with his left hand. He takes one step after doing that.
